John Carpenter Announces Halloween OST To Coincide With New Movie.

HalloweenFriday 17th August 2018
he Master of Horror, John Carpenter, has announced the impending release of the original soundtrack album for 'Halloween'—in which Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. The album arrives on October 19 from Sacred Bones, the same day that the new David Gordon Green-directed film is released in theaters.

'Halloween' is the first film in the canon to have Carpenter involved since 1982's 'Halloween III'. He serves as an executive producer, creative consultant, and, thrillingly, as a soundtrack composer—alongside his collaborators from his three recent solo albums, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.

The new soundtrack pays homage to the classic 'Halloween' score that Carpenter composed and recorded in 1978, when he forever changed the course of horror cinema and synthesizer music with his low-budget masterpiece. Several new versions of the iconic main theme serve as the pulse of Green's film, its familiar 5/4 refrain stabbing through the soundtrack like the Shape's knife. The rest of the soundtrack is equally enthralling, incorporating everything from atmospheric synth whooshes to eerie piano-driven pieces to skittering electronic percussion. While the new score was made with a few more resources than Carpenter's famously shoestring original, its musical spirit was preserved: "We wanted to honour the original Halloween soundtrack in terms of the sounds we used," Davies explained. "We used a lot of the Dave Smith OB-6, bowed guitar, Roland Juno, Korg, Roli, Moog, Roland System 1, Roland System 8, different guitar pedals, mellotron, and piano."

Unlike the two 'Lost Themes' albums, 'Halloween' saw the Carpenters and Davies collaborating on music set to images for the first time. Though it marked a significant change from their previous creative process, the trio thrived under the constraints and tight deadlines that film scoring work demands.

For Carpenter, who reunited on the new film with original 'Halloween' star Jamie Lee Curtis, composing the score felt like a homecoming. "It was great," Carpenter said of the experience. "It was transforming. It was not a movie I directed, so I had a lot of freedom in creating the score and getting into the director's head. I was proud to serve David Gordon Green's vision."

The band will embark on a European tour in support of the new soundtrack and other recent releases this October. For the live shows Carpenter is joined by a stellar band, comprised of his son Cody Carpenter on synthesizer, his godson Daniel Davies on guitar, John Spiker on bass, John Konesky on guitar, and Scott Seiver on drums.

In addition to CD, black LP and digital version, 'Halloween' will be available on the following limited edition colour vinyl formats:

Sick Of It All Announce New Album 'Wake The Sleeping Dragon!'.

Sick Of It AllFriday 17th August 2018
SICK OF IT ALL are pleased to announce their upcoming album, entitled ”Wake The Sleeping Dragon!“, is scheduled for release on 02 November 2018.
Working with friends is one of the key factors that are very important to SICK OF IT ALL, so asking Ernie Parada for the striking front cover was an obvious choice: “There is no reason to burn bridges in this business”, says drummer Armand Majidi . “Our history with Ernie Parada goes back to the late eighties, so working with him, there is a kinship that makes things easier to communicate.”

Singer Lou Koller and Parada came up with the idea of doing monster-movie styled art as the cover. “The dragon climbing the Empire State was a concept I always wanted to see brought to life, so the two ideas were destined to come together this way.”

SICK OF IT ALL and Tue Madsen, who mixed and mastered “Wake The Sleeping Dragon!”, have maintained a long-lasting relationship based on understanding, friendship and most importantly, good results - three factors any band would be very happy with.  The Jerry Farley also became a very important part of the creation of this album. After working with him at Nova Studios on Staten Island, New York, they went for a closer approach on this album: “This is the first time we've ever had a producer involved from start to finish, including the song-writing process.  His objective viewpoints helped settle a lot of little issues that could have easily become stumbling blocks, and the songs themselves ended up benefitting from them.”
Keep your eyes and ears open for a new song soon.

While the band is currently playing summer festivals such as Summer Breeze, Reload or Summer Blast, they have already lined up more shows in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy in November, as well as co-headlining the Persistence Tour 2019.

As It Is, who are on course for their highest UK Official Album Chart entry to date with new album 'The Great Depression'have announced a special one-off acoustic performance at Kingston's All Saints Church on December 4th, following their forthcoming UK headline tour.

Speaking of the show, guitarist Benjamin Langford-Biss says, "Banquet shows are always very special. I've been personally going to their shows for close to 10 years now. Whether it's acoustic in-stores or two sweaty intimate Fighting Cocks shows in a day, every single one we've done means a lot to us and marks each of our releases. This time around we're doing something a little different, playing a full band acoustic set in All Saints Church. With The Great Depression being a much more sonically expansive record than we've ever done we're excited to re-imagine these songs in a quiet intimate context (and maybe you'll even hear a taste of these versions beforehand... ) .  Limbs Release Video For 'Father's Son'.

LimbsWednesday 15th August 2018
Post-hardcore quintet LIMBS have released a brand new performance video for their song "Father's Son," streaming now, here: Filmed during the band's spring tour with Underoath, Dance Gavin Dance, and Veil Of Maya, the video captures the electricity and raw power of a LIMBS live show – from headbanging to mic swings and beyond.

LIMBS released their debut full-length album Father's Son on April 27th, 2018. The record, out now via UNFD, gives listeners a dark and brooding look at a young man's journey out of religion as he comes to terms with both his upbringing and his own actions. Fans can stream it now on Spotify and Apple Music, or purchase it online at:

LIMBS previously released singles "Tangled Hands" and "Father's Son." With adds to top Spotify playlists like Metalcore and New Metal Tracks, as well as Apple Music playlists like Breaking Metal, these singles have seen great successes on streaming services.

Earlier this year the band found a home with UNFD, ahead of the April release of their debut album Father's Son. A conceptual album following a young man breaking free from his indoctrinated upbringing, the album explores the harm it causes and the strength in reclaiming your own life.

"It's loosely based off of some of my own personal experiences and feelings," explains frontman Chris Costanza. "It begins with the young man feeling distraught and angry after coming to some realizations about his upbringing and the harm it has done to both himself and others. It slowly turns inward as he reflects on himself and takes personal responsibility for his actions and deals with the aftermath of making such a drastic change in his life."

A brooding and cathartic album Costanza describes as "Norma Jean meets Radiohead," Father's Son came together with help from Tim McTague in the pre-production stages before moving on to record with Beau Burchell – the same team behind SLEEP.

LIMBS – rounded out by Daniel Nelson (drums), Joshua Kowalski (bass), Jordan Hunter (guitar), and Tyler Martin (guitar) – has spent the last few months criss-crossing the highways of America showcasing Father's Son with the likes of Underoath, Veil of Maya. As they prepare for another run of shows on the Vans Warped Tour and with Emery, Costanza reflects on the life lessons expressed within the album.

"The biggest lesson I've learned is that love comes in many forms. Some people come at love from a religious standpoint, others from a spiritual standpoint, some from a more pragmatic place. But the most important thing I've realized is that (at least to me) it shouldn't matter where that love comes from. Seeing love in so many forms and from so many different viewpoints has been extremely eye opening for me and helped me broaden my view of love and how it's given/received. I think that's something I'll never stop learning."

PEtrol Girls To Release New EP 'The Future Is Dark'.

Petrol GirlsWednesday 15th August 2018
Petrol Girls recently announced that their new EP 'The Future Is Dark' will be released via Hassle Records on 14th September - including on limited etched 12" vinyl - and now they've shared the intimate and emotive new single 'Sister', along with a music video that came into being with more than a little help from the band's extended sisterhood network. "I've been wanting for us to write a song about sisterhood for a long time, because it's these relationships that have had the biggest impact on my life and that form the heart of my feminism," says Petrol Girls' vocalist Ren Aldridge. "I've got two younger blood sisters and a few very close friends that I consider sisters, as well as our family dog Skye who passed away last summer but I loved her like a sister too. All of those relationships have taught me so much. They've guided me, taken care of me, made me laugh til I cry and nurtured me into better versions of myself. I think society often puts too much emphasis on sexual relationships when sisterhood is incredibly important and powerful. This song celebrates a relationship that can pose a real threat to capitalism and patriarchy because it challenges competition and is built on care and trust."

The EP is named after a Virginia Woolf quote that writer Rebecca Solnit uses as a starting point for her essay 'Woolf's Darkness,' in 'Men Explain Things To Me.' She writes about accepting uncertainty and not fearing the dark or the unknown because actually we don't know what will happen next. She describes despair and optimism both as forms of certainty that create grounds for not acting, whereas hope pushes us to act and make change in whatever ways we can. "The dark, just like the future, is full of possibilities," muses Aldridge. "It makes me think about how its only in the dark that we can see the stars and think about ourselves as just tiny parts of this cosmic system, as part of a bigger picture. I find it really grounding and inspiring to feel individually small but part of something huge."

The EP also includes the previously-released single 'Survivor', which is inspired by the growing movement against sexual violence. Aldridge explains its motivation -- "The people who've spoken up so courageously about their experiences have broken the silence that has protected abusers in the past, often at massive risk to their own safety and well being. I hope that their bravery inspires the cultural shift in attitudes that is so desperately needed." 'Strike' closes out the EP and is a track about political organising and how taking care, making space, reflecting and recognising our fuck ups are just as important as the direct action itself.

Seasick Steve Releases New Single 'Can U Cook?'.

Seasick SteveWednesday 15th August 2018
Can U Cook? is the title track of Seasick Steve's forthcoming 9th studio album and is released as a debut single on August 15th on BMG. Can U Cook? sees Steve serve up wise relationship advice with dirty guitars, big drums and a growling vocal in an infectious and electrifying Seasick Steve groove. Can U Cook? had its first UK play courtesy of Chris Evans on his Radio 2 Breakfast Show on August 14th, and is available now to stream and as an instant grat with an album pre-order.

Chatting to Evans from a truckstop on the Italian coast after driving overnight from a gig in Austria, ("I'm awake and I'm above ground!") Steve said Can U Cook? "...was made on a one string washboard guitar that I hooked a banjo neck onto, an' I hope you like it".

The Can U Cook? album was produced and written by Steve and was mostly recorded in a converted ice house on the dock in Key West, Florida with his longtime drummer Dan Magnusson a.k.a. Crazy Dan ("the guy's dangerous but he's a nice fella, he's just a little bit loopy") and guitarist Luther Dickinson of The North Mississippi Allstars, and ex of The Black Crowes ("...the greatest living slide guitar player ... he's crazy too, he fits right in").

Released on September 28th, the new album sees Steve mixing up all of his much-loved ingredients to deliver a fresh new record that's full of sunshine as well as being a good ol' Seasick mix of boogie, blues, rock, Americana and folk music.

Can U Cook? is available on CD, standard and limited edition clear vinyl, and all streaming and digital platforms, and physical pre-order is available now at

Thrice Release Video For 'Only Us'.

ThriceWednesday 15th August 2018
Thrice has shared a new song "Only Us" which is from their new album Palms out September 14.

On "Only Us," Thrice bring pulsating synth lines, fragile harmonies, and massively heavy guitar riffs. "'Only Us' came from thinking about how we're so easily divided into 'us' and 'them,' when really we have an inherent ability to care for those in our group, and the parameters for who falls into that group are extremely flexible," says front man Dustin Kensrue. "It's about how the things that we think separate us are actually inconsequential, and if we could broaden the idea of 'us' to include all people, it would help us to build a more loving and civil society."

Listen to "Only Us" and watch the lyric video now:

Co-produced by Thrice and Eric Palmquist and mixed by John Congleton, Palms encompasses everything from viscerally charged post-hardcore to piano-driven balladry. The most sonically expansive album so far in the band's 20-year-history, Palms follows the critically acclaimed To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere (released via Vagrant Records in 2016).

As well as this single, the EP consists of 3 reworked and reimagined tracks taken from the bands 'Melancholia Hymns' album, stripped back, taken apart, smashed back together, melted down again and sown back up with love. The EP will be released on digital and super limited vinyl and CD, once they go, they are gone!

'Landslide' EP track-listings:
1. Before Me (Over) feat Emily Denton
2. Matter (Revel) - VIDEO
3. Landslide - VIDEO
4. Off The Floor (Fade)

From ARCANE ROOTS vocalist and guitarist, Andrew Groves on the single 'Matter (Revel)' - "Matter was one of the first tracks to be written for Melancholia Hymns, all the way back in 2015. It was always intended to be the second track on the record and, thankfully, it arrived almost fully formed and perfectly exemplifying the heavier aspects of the album. Lyrically, it grew out of the bitterness & resentment i was harbouring against the political climate at the time, and to say that things have changed since then would be somewhat of an understatement. Now, given the chance to re-work it & finally release the (previously dormant) video, i wanted it to feel like the spinning decent into despair & disparity that all but surrounds us on a daily basis through our screens. I wanted the production to reflect this, like a dark fantasy of crawling through the filth, our hearts & minds consumed with revenge and retribution, like a mirror to the very injustices we'd seen, as we became more like the aggressors. Programmed at my home studio, and inspired by artists like Sevdaliza & Björk, the space and simplicity became something both paramount and punishing while we wrangled with each sound to keep it feeling like it was just bubbling beneath the surface.

"The video (co-directed by Olly Jelly & myself and produced by Sophia Groves) leant itself perfectly to the even darker twist we desired and, though shot over a year previously, it's linear narrative inspired by Shakespeare's Lady Macbeth & Ophelia, remained the perfect base from which to treat and contort the footage into the surreal nightmare we imagined. Her gradual acceptance of the darker desires of her character and eventual metamorphosis, echoes that of the darker aspects of humanity and our susceptibility to despondence, oppression & xenophobia."

Live wise, ARCANE ROOTS can now announce an small selection of very intimate live dates  through October, where the band will perform a full 'Landslide' electronic set - unlike anything they have done before.

From Andrew Groves: "This small excursion into electronica & score has only ever been another step towards becoming the band we set out to be, one that leaves you breathless, one that challenges you and one where the music and experience is first & foremost. From the shirt on your back to the video on your screen, to the lights in your eyes and the sleeve in your hand, we design & produce it all to give you the best experience we can. Our one and only interest is to improve that experience and strive to be better for you. So with that said, we're so very excited to undertake our most ambitious plans to date with a handful of very special one-off live shows in some unique and intimate venues. We want to give you an experience to never forget and the fleeting chance to see us as you've never seen us before while we perform a live set that lives, shines and breathes in front of you for the very first time."

Alkaline Trio Release Lyric Video For 'Is This Thing Cursed?'.

Alkaline TrioFriday 10th August 2018
Legendary Chicago punk band Alkaline Trio have released the title track from their forthcoming album "Is This Thing Cursed?". The ninth studio album from Alkaline Trio, "Is This Thing Cursed?" is their first new music in five years.

Watch the lyric video for "Is This Thing Cursed?" by Alkaline Trio.

With its soaring vocals and furious intensity, "Is This Thing Cursed?" is the second single to be released from "Is This Thing Cursed?". Last month Alkaline Trio shared a song called "Blackbird," which SPIN hailed as a "glossy, pristine pop-punk record that's anthemic and a bit catchy in its breezy melodies."

Produced and mixed by Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Motörhead), Is This Thing Cursed? is the first Alkaline Trio album written almost entirely in the studio. According to the band, the album-making process was similar to that of "Maybe I'll Catch Fire"—Alkaline Trio's darkly charged sophomore full-length, a 2000 release featuring the fan favorite "Radio."

Due out on CD/digital on August 31, Is This Thing Cursed? will be released on vinyl on October 19. Pre-orders are available now at:

Turisas Announce Co-headline Tour With Korpiklaani.

TurisasFriday 10th August 2018
TURISAS will embark on an extensive co-headline run across the continent with no less than their fellow countrymen Korpiklaani in February and March 2019. Opening support will come from Norwegian True Balkan Metallers Trollfest.

TURISAS comment on the tour: “It’ s been long since we’ve last toured Europe properly and couldn’t be more excited to get back on the stage and vent off some of the cabin fever built up by years of research and songwriting for a new album. - And what would be better than going out on a double-headline tour with our dear friends and countrymen Korpiklaani! It’s really strong and diverse package you definitely shouldn’t miss. See you at the shows!“

Jonne from Korpiklaani, who release their new album “Kulkija” (= "Wanderer") in September. says: “Kulkija has many stories about Wayfarers or Wanderers and it somehow fits so nicely with the good feeling theme on the album, to go on tour with people who we consider friends. The Warriors in TURISAS and the Balkan Kaos of Trollfest will be so good, many good memories and stories will be told.”

Trollfest on joining the tour: “It's been way too long since we shared the stage with TURISAS, and we still cry like baby girls when we think of the previous tours we did with our lovers in Korpiklaani! Meeting old friends - check! Making new friends - check! New music - check! New costumes - check! More madness - check! More beer, booze & alcohol?! We'll see... Any way you look at it; this tour combines heavy music, madness, balkan, hompa, trolls, warriors, shamans and orcs in the best way possible!! Prepare yourself, because maximum metal showers (of love) is coming your way!!!”

Chthonic Announce Eigth Studio Album 'Battlefields Of Asura'.

ChthonicTuesday 7th August 2018
CHTHONIC, the Taiwanese metal band recognised for their unique signature performance, are to release their eighth album, Battlefields of Asura, on October 10th, 2018 - the follow-up to 2013's Butik.

Formed in 1995, CHTHONIC have toured in over 40 countries, played hundreds of concerts and festivals, and become the most visible Taiwanese metal band with international publicity. In the past five years, all five members of CHTHONIC have turned a new page in their lives respectively. Frontman Freddy Lim formed a new political party and got elected into the Taiwanese Parliament in January this year, while the other members established their families. Nevertheless, they have not forgotten their promise to release new material to the fans.

This year, CHTHONIC has Randy Blythe, frontman of Grammy-nominated metal band Lamb of God, and Denise Ho, iconic freedom fighter and singer from Hong Kong joining the creation of Battlefields of Asura.
In the lead up to the new album announcement, secretive promotion in Taiwan raised speculation of the possibility of new CHTHONIC music, with lead track "Millennia's Faith Undone" having been remixed by Denise Ho, along with five new bands and artists with their own distinctive styles - Elephant Gym, Hom Shenhao, Unfamiliar Friends Party, Bison Country and Angry Youth. The speculation even hinted the possibility of renaissance of lyrics in Taiwanese. Days ago, Denise Ho, published her version of "Millennia’s Faith Undone", as her first Taiwanese song mixed with the voice of Freddy Lim throughout the song, which has become a hit in Taiwan and Hong Kong.  As conversations about the relation between the song and CHTHONIC continues, the answer is finally revealed today that the 60-second preview of the original Millennia’s Faith Undone will be published by CHTHONIC, with the full version released on September 4th.

View the 60 second teaser of "Millennia's Faith Undone" HERE.
A playlist of the different mixes and versions of "Millenia's Faith Undone" can also be listened to HERE.
Battlefields of Asura track list:

01. Drawing Omnipotence Nigh
02. The Silent One’s Torch
03. Flames upon the Weeping Winds
04. A Crimson Sky's Command
05. Souls of the Revolution
06. Taste the Black Tears
07. One Thousand Eyes
08. Masked Faith
09. Carved in Bloodstone
10. Millennia’s Faith Undone
11. Autopoiesis

According to CHTHONIC, the new album Battlefields of Asura depicts the adventure of deities in Taiwan through eleven songs carrying messages about resistance, freedom and fraternity.  The journey is full of hostility, adversary, impregnable fortresses and desires but also inspires infinite courage to search for eternal wisdom.  Anyone deeply touched by this album will eventually realise that it is the origin of all thrilling epic stories portrayed in the past albums. This album sounds like gods versus devils and fights among evil spirits on the surface; however, everyone can feel the empathy of fury, grief and even strength of resurgence from the lyrics.  When asked why the band names the new album Battlefields of Asura, Doris Yeh, the spokesperson of CHTHONIC, states that "this album is the prologue of the albums released in the past and was inspired by and dedicated to the activists of Taiwan’s first modern political reform movement back in 1920s."

With Confidence Release New Single 'Moving Boxes'.

With ConfidenceTuesday 7th August 2018
With Confidence have released the third single from their upcoming album 'Love and Loathing', the band's second full length, out August 10 on Hopeless Records. Fans can check out the song and music video for 'Moving Boxes' here:
'Moving Boxes' was written by guitarist Inigo Del Carmen, who said, "I wrote 'Moving Boxes' when I was packing up to move all my things to my girlfriend's place in LA. The idea came to me when my room was pretty much cleared out and I had all the things I needed packed but I didn't know what to do with this box of things that didn't have any purpose. It was all sentimental things like a box of photos, a jar of sea shells, old birthday cards, there was a plastic rose from my first valentine from grade 7 and other little trinkets from old friends that had no real purpose. It just gave me the idea that the memories all these items hold will be there regardless of whether I have the actual item or not." He continued, "The main idea behind the song and video is that our memories aren't bound to these physical objects. I feel like leaving these mementos behind was helping me move out of home by focusing on the things I really needed and leaving behind the things I didn't."

Ahead of 'Moving Boxes', With Confidence shared 'Jaded' last month and in June released 'That Something'.
'Love and Loathing' was produced by Mike Green (All Time Low, Paramore) and is an album filled with soaring melodies and emotive lyrics, carrying you through first loves, blistering breakups and everything in between. According to vocalist Jayden Seeley, the final themes weren't clear until they had finished most of the songs. "There's a looming relationship with loathing, mostly about the concept of self-loathing," explains Seeley. "That period before getting into a relationship is very introspective — you're trying to be a better person, but a lot of how that happens is because people are really hard on [themselves]. That ties back to love just as strongly, because in the relationship, you want to keep being better. In every way."

With Confidence just wrapped up performing the entire last full run of the Vans Warped Tour in the US and they'll be heading to the UK and Europe for a headline tour next month.

 Hellions Announce New Album 'Rue'.

HellionsTuesday 7th August 2018
Hellions have announced their brand-new album Rue today, set for release on October 19 via UNFD. Rue follows on from their critically-acclaimed theatrical masterpiece Opera Oblivia – which debuted at #4 on the Australian album chart in 2016 and was nominated for an ARIA award that same year.

The latest single lifted from the collection is 'Smile'. Following on from previously released singles 'X (Mwah)' and 'Furrow', Smile was born late in the creation process and is a dynamic, upbeat tune built around the refrain 'I'm ready to run, are you ready?' that provides a tongue-in-cheek look at the depth of our interactions in the digital age.
To explain the concept of 'Smile' further, Anthony Caruso (drummer/co-writer) and Matt Gravolin (guitar/vocals/cowriter) say: "The world as we know it wants to be entertained interminably, and now our entertainment often comes at the expense of our compassion. We've all found ourselves speaking in blue, snide language about trivial matters that aren't of any real consequence to us, asserting invalid opinions for the sake of having our voices heard.
"Cheap stimulation is addictive and judgemental thinking can take over involuntarily when so much of our mental space is surrendered to it. We seem to be stuck here despite knowing that this thinking and behaviour isn't conducive to any lasting happiness."

How can we overcome our struggles with one another if we don't fully understand the one raging inside ourselves? It's this very question Hellions explore on Rue and there's never been a better time for an album that explores this tussling duality the band describe as "the co-existence of a Jekyll and Hyde operating within a person at any one time".

Rue builds upon the marriage of theatrical dynamics and thoughtful lyricism that defined the genre-melding Australian quartet's critically acclaimed previous offering, 2016's third collection Opera Oblivia. The resulting record is deeper and darker, with melodies that are more beautiful, and riffs that are more seismic.

The tracks on Rue are divided into the 'pessimistic' and 'humanitarian' sides of life. Opening tracks '(Blueberry)' and 'Odyssey' deal with the former, examining how the high consciousness we possess has led to a culture of egocentricity and opportunism, though it's accompanied by jaunty, bombastic guitars reminiscent of Black Parade-era My Chemical Romance. It's safe to say Rue is an album in which message and music are often tonally juxtaposed, requiring the listener to really listen. So while the funky, danceable 'X (Mwah)' is actually about abandoning hope in favour of recklessness, "26" is a rousing anthem about the quest for happiness.
To bring the remarkable sonic scope to life, Hellions returned to the serenity of Karma Sound Studios in Thailand and their producer Shane Edwards – a man Hellions have worked with for a decade and describe as "our fifth member".

Rue is a timely record that calls for an end to complacency. Whether it's for its remarkable music, or its powerful messages – it needs to be heard.

2. Odyssey
3. X (Mwah)
4. Smile
5. Furrow

Alter Bridge To Release Live At The Royal Albert Hall In September.

Alter BridgeTuesday 6th August 2018
Coming on the heels of the announcement of Alter Bridge’s career-defining live release Live At The Royal Albert Hall Featuring the Parallax Orchestra, the band is releasing another video from the live performance. The latest track being released, “Words Darker Than Their Wings,” is a song from the band’s 2010 ABIII album that, until those two shows in October 2017, had never been previously performed live. The longtime crowd favourite showcases the first time that Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti share lead vocal duties, something that would be repeated on “Waters Rising” from the Fortress release. The video for the track can be seen here: and the audio is available via all streaming partners.

“’Words Darker Than Their Wings’ was a song that we never played before ever and its been one of our favourites, especially me and Scott Phillips. That’s been one of our top 3 Alter Bridge songs since we wrote it and its just one of those songs that we have been trying and trying and trying to play live and Myles is always kind of pushing back about it and finally, you know with this orchestra he [Myles] said this is the perfect time to do it. We did and it was the biggest reaction of both nights,” explains Mark Tremonti in the full-length movie of the concert.

After 14 years performing together, five full-length studio albums, and countless sold-out shows around the globe, Alter Bridge is releasing the epic Live At The Royal Albert Hall on September 7th via Napalm Records. The live album and DVD was recorded in October 2017 when the band performed two sold-out shows at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall backed by the 52-piece Parallax Orchestra led by conductor Simon Dobson. Live At The Royal Albert Hall is a 21-song collection that features some of Alter Bridge’s biggest hits, fan favourites and even a couple of rarities. Songs like “Before Tomorrow Comes,” “Ghost Of Days Gone By,” “The Last Hero,” and “Broken Wings” all find new life with the unique arrangements presented by Dobson and the Parallax Orchestra performing with the band. The pre-order for the release is live and fans can order various audio and video configurations including Blu-Ray, DVD, CD and Vinyl as well as other unique bundles with exclusive content. The preorder is currently live here: and at A portion of the proceeds from all sales will go to the Future Song Foundation; an organization that Myles Kennedy is closely involved with.

As It Is To Release New Album 'The Great Depression' On Friday.

As It IsTuesday 7th August 2018
As It Is have today shared the third taste of their upcoming third album, 'The Great Depression', in the form of new song, 'The Fire, The Dark'.

Speaking of the track, singer Patty Walters says, "The Fire, The Dark' is about self-destruction. Weighed down by his regrets and resentments, The Poet turns to habits of self-destruction as a coping mechanism, isolated and completely withdrawn from the world, neurotic and unstable, consequently jeopardising his relationship with his wife.
This song in particular is one of the boldest musical departures from the As It Is many have come to know. It was a pleasure and a privilege writing this song alongside Larry Hibbitt of Hundred Reasons, a band whose sound directly influenced 'The Great Depression's darker direction."

"The Great Depression' is about the societal romanticisation of depression, the disrepair of present-day human connection, told through the story of a man who finds himself face-to-face with Death. This album is about asking questions rather than offering answers, exploring the lines where consolation and glorification collide, and asking if art is too subjective to offer a universal solution.

We've approached this subject with the tremendous respect and sensitivity it warrants. Mental health awareness and prioritisation has always been immensely important to us, and we want to use this platform for good and to challenge problematic behaviours and stigmas.  More so than ever before, we'll be working alongside incredible non-profits, donating proceeds to worthy causes, and using our music in hopes of creating a positive change."

When music is as its best, it is capable of holding a mirror up to the human condition in a way few other art forms can ever match.

In the hands of the observant, the erudite, the compassionate and the philosophical, music allows us to better understand who we are and feel powerfully less alone.

With their third album 'The Great Depression', As it Is are comprehensively proving themselves to be such artists. Stepping out of their comfort zone with aplomb while asking, and answering, complex questions in a way precious few bands ever do.

Across 'The Great Depression's dozen tracks, As It Is take the listener on a journey which delves into every aspect of arguably the most prevalent social ill of our time. From public perception, to internal war, the quartet unflinchingly confront the most difficult questions around depression, the value of life over death, and whether the rhetoric around 'reaching out to talk' is ostensibly hollow, if no one is prepared to hear those words

Black Peaks Announce UK And Europe Tour Dates.

Black PeaksTuesday 7th August 2018
Brighton 4 piece BLACK PEAKS release their huge, brand new single 'Electric Fires' today, Friday 3rd August. It is the 3rd new single this year, and the band will be releasing their hugely anticipated, Adrian Bushby produced (Grammy award winner for Muse, Foo Fighters) 2nd album 'All That Divides', on October 5th through Rise Records/BMG.

Stream/buy the single 'Electric Fires' - HERE

From BLACK PEAKS front man Will Gardner on the new single 'Electric Fires':
'Electric Fires was one of the first songs we wrote for All That Divides, and was one that had a few live outings towards the end of the Statues tour. The song in many ways is one of our most straight-forward. Lyrically the song is a bit of a sarcastic comment on the beliefs of certain conspiracy theorists, Flat-Earthers etc. Essentially we just had fun with that idea, and wrote a song about how our Alien forefathers came here from Mars at the dawn of civilisation to build the pyramids, which, of course, 100% totally happened. Stay woke, kids.'

The band have already released the singles 'Home' and 'Can't Sleep', and the later was a Radio 1 Rock Show Rockest Record and Huw Stevens Single Of The Week in April, and is the opening track on 'All That Divides'. Full album track-listing below:

Will Gardner on 'All That Divides' - "Lyrically at least, this album represents the fear of a future where freedom is restricted. Over the last two years, we as a band have been incredibly lucky to have been able to travel accross Europe and play our music. The fact this happened to take place during a period where various political changes, at home and abroad, made us focus a lot about the freedom and right to travel. We have seen people, families, relationships and countries divided by conflict and political upheaval, and our reaction to this is a core lyrical theme running through the album."

'All That Divides' is the follow up to the 2016 debut album 'Statues', which was universally acclaimed, saw the band play-listed on Radio 1 with 'Saviour' and tour across Europe with the likes of Architects, Mastodon, System of a Down, Prophets of Rage and Dillinger Escape Plan

Laura Jane Grace Announces New Project Laura Jane Grace And The Devouring Mothers.

Laura Jane GraceTuesday 7th August 2018
Bloodshot Records is very excited, humbled and somewhat giddy to announce a working partnership with Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers. The label will release the group's debut album in the fall of 2018. While a release date and album details are still to come, today the band announced they will play a run of special shows in the Midwest this coming November. A full listing of dates can be found below and on Bloodshot's official site HERE with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, August 3.

Grace had the following to say about the partnership:

"I've been a longtime fan of Bloodshot and the artists they work with. Having spent the past year working on a record without knowing where its home was going to be, when I discovered that the Bloodshot offices were only a couple of blocks away from my apartment I went in and asked if they'd consider giving the songs a home. They were cool enough to hear me out and oblige. I couldn't be more happy about the work we're going to do together and sharing it with the world."

For Bloodshot's part, the chance to work with such a compelling artist at a point in her career when she is expanding her creative energies was pretty well irresistible.

Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers are Laura Jane Grace, Atom Willard, and Marc Jacob Hudson. Grace is a musician, author, and activist best known as the founder, lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the punk rock band Against Me! Willard, also of Against Me!, is a drummer who has played in iconic punk bands such as Rocket from the Crypt, Social Distortion, and The Offspring. Devouring Mothers bassist Hudson is a recordist and mixer at Rancho Recordo, a recording studio and creative space in the woods of Michigan, and the sound engineer for Against Me!

Against Me! has toured with Bloodshot artists Murder By Death, William Elliott Whitmore, and Cory Branan and, in 2017, Grace appeared on the lead track "I Only Know" on Branan's album Adios.

Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers will be making the following appearances this November in support of the forthcoming album. Dates below.

You Me At Six Release Video For '3AM'.

You Me At SixTuesday 7th August 2018
You Me At Six have today revealed the official video for their latest single '3AM', one of the first tracks to be taken from their new sixth studio album VI, out October 5th via AWAL, releasing under their new Underdog Records imprint.

The video, that splits into two contrasting segments, spells out a night like no other and presents what frontman Josh Franceschi thinkshappened (Act 1: Expectation), swiftly followed by the entertaining truth, what actuallyhappened (Act 2: Reality).

Speaking of the video, Franceschi comments;"The idea came from watching Wolf Of Wall Street. In the film there is a scene where the main protagonist (Leonardo DiCaprio) has a split reality when under the influence of what he believes to be true and what is actually true. That just resonated with us. I worked quite closely with Dan Broadley (Director) as I found myself doing a lot of 'acting' in this video. It was new, and a challenge, but he gave me the confidence to embrace it and also have the freedom to go off script"

Director, Dan Broadley, also says; I remember really early on in the process, we had this unhinged creative conversation about what we all wanted this video to be and how we wanted to push the boundaries of what people expected of You Me At Six. I recalled this amazing scene in The Wolf Of Wall Street where it shows Leo making it back home in his Lamborghini whilst totally off his head on drugs, however it later reveals what really happened... and the journey didn't go as well as he remembered. I loved that idea and wanted to adapt it to a 'night out' scenario where Josh plays this bouncy alter-ego of himself. I think a highlight was persuading the guys to learn a full dance routine to perform at the climax of the song..."

Following the announcement of new music and a brand new album, You Me At Six have also set out their plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album 'Take Off Your Colours'. Due to phenomenal demand, the band have added seven additional dates to the initial three that sold out in just twenty minutes. These special one-off events will see the acclaimed five piece play their seminal genre-classic 'Take Off Your Colours' in its entirety. Alongside the anniversary shows, the band will be playing five UK headline shows. Support for all the above shows coming from MarmozetsThe Xcerts. All dates sold out immediately upon going on general sale.

After selling over 76,000 tickets across the UK last year, You Me At Six are undoubted Heavyweights of the UK rock scene, filling the largest venues wherever they go. Their phenomenal live career speaks for itself, having sold out arena tours in the UK, headlining both the NME/Radio 1 stage at Reading & Leeds in 2017 and the second stage at Download Festival this year. These upcoming sold-out shows gives You Me At Six the chance to road test their explosive new show, creating a new batch of future live classics for fans in the process.

The band have notched up a list of considerable achievements since forming in 2004 as teenagers in Weybridge, Surrey, including four UK Gold Records, four Top 10 albums in the UK including Number 1 albumCavalier Youth, three sold out arena shows, sold out UK headline arena tours, an unparalleled 15 consecutive A-List singles on BBC Radio One, multiple sold-out US headline tours and a Number 1 rock song in UK & Australia and Top 5 Rock Radio track in North America in 'Room To Breathe'.

With 'VI', You Me At Six are stepping out of their comfort zone and are about to change the way you think about them. Prepare to have your expectations shifted as 2018 marks a brand new chapter for one of the UK's biggest guitar bands.

Dave Grohl Announces New Two Part Mini Documentary.

Dave GrohlFriday 3rd August 2018
"Watching my kids start to play music and learn to sing or play drums, it brings me back to the time when I was their age listening to albums, learning from listening... and when I take my kids to the place where they take their lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out. And even now, as a 49-year-old man, I'm still trying to figure it out... it's not something that you ever truly master. You're always chasing the next challenge, and you're always trying to find a way to improve on what you've learned."—Dave Grohl.

As Foo Fighters wind down another leg of the massive Concrete and Gold tour with a Wrigley Field doubleheader that rocked 75,000+ of Chicago's FF faithful, Dave Grohl announces an unprecedented new project born of the most challenging performance of his storied career:

"PLAY" is a two part mini-documentary, directed by Grohl with help from his Sound City/Sonic Highways collaborator Mark Monroe, celebrating the rewards and challenges of dedicating ones life to playing and mastering a musical instrument. Part one opens with narrated behind the scenes footage featuring discussion of the love of playing music and the lifelong relationship with an instrument, and detailing the process and challenges of recording and filming this unique performance.

"PLAY" film then segues to the titular 23-minute, one-man-band instrumental recording on which Grohl plays all seven instruments on the track, all live. The entire song was played by Grohl, each time on a different instrument, live for 23 minutes. Beginning with the recording of the entire drum track purely from memory, with no sheet music or guide tracks, followed by guitar, then bass, then keyboards, and so on... Grohl tasked himself with a one-man-band recording session that

was forced to start from the very beginning of the 23-minute song any time the slightest mistake was made or if Grohl felt he could do a better take. Concrete and Gold engineer Darrell Thorp was on hand to capture the sounds.

Filmed in classic black and white by Brandon Trost (The Disaster Artist, This is The End), with lighting modulating to match the dramatic peaks and valleys of this epic instrumental, "PLAY" was then edited to feature seven Grohls recording together. The "PLAY" online interactive experience offers viewer/listener/participants the options of taking in the mini-doc and Grohl performance as is, focusing on one instrument, and/or downloading "PLAY" sheet music. The online version of "PLAY" also includes a list of organizations where time, money and instruments can be donated to the cause—and places where musicians young and old alike can have the opportunity to play live music.

The challenges Grohl created for himself in creating "PLAY" mirror those taken on by music students every day: The obstacles they face in their daily efforts to elevate and improve their abilities are no different than those faced by a world class stadium rocker—both are striving for the same goals. This shared quest gave "PLAY" its mission to inspire and promote music education: The film is intercut with young musicians from the Join The Band music school in the San Fernando Valley practicing their craft, working relentlessly to get it right, and always coming back to the conclusion that, in Grohl's words, "'just like any kid, the reward is just to PLAY."

Through partnerships with music and media organizations, schools and charities the world over, "PLAY" and its portrait of the joy of playing music should be a catalyst for discussion and action to benefit music education on a global level. Keep your eyes on for information on upcoming auctions with proceeds benefiting local music education organizations.

Justin Courtney Pierre Announces Debut Solo Album 'In The Drink'.

Justin Courtney PierreFriday 3rd August 2018
Motion City Soundtrack frontman Justin Courtney Pierre has announced the upcoming release of his debut solo record In The Drink. The record will be released via Epitaph Records on October 12.

Today via Billboard, Pierre shares the lead single and title track from In The Drink—an urgent and bouncy, guitar-fueled pop song built on Pierre’s classically quirky but heartfelt lyrics. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Shane Rock Nelson, the video for “In The Drink” follows Pierre as he fends off shadowy, cheeseburger zombie-like figures in the woods of his native Minnesota.

Check out “In The Drink” by Justin Courtney Pierre at Billboard:

Produced by Motion City Soundtrack guitarist Joshua Cain, In The Drink finds Pierre at his most unfiltered, embracing everything from anthemic pop to moodier and more darkly charged material. Pierre plays all instruments on the album except for drums, which are performed by David Jarnstrom (Gratitude, BNLX).

This fall, Pierre will embark on a U.S. national tour in support of In The Drink. Kicking off on November 1 in Chicago, the tour wraps up on December 9 in Seattle. For on sale information, visit

In 1997 Pierre co-founded Motion City Soundtrack, the widely celebrated rock band whose last album Panic Stations hit the Billboard 200. Although Pierre had initially planned to focus on domestic life after the band went on hiatus in 2016, he soon felt compelled to revisit the hundreds of voice memos, lyrical scribblings, and melody ideas he’d compiled since age seven. “There is a part of me that just needs to make stuff, so with whatever free time I had I’d be writing and then I’d clean the house and then I’d write some more,” Pierre recalls.

Recorded sporadically over the course of seven months, In The Drink was self-funded and a true labor of love. “I wanted to make a record that sounded like the kind of albums I listened to as a teenager in the early ’90s, and I think we succeeded and failed in exactly the right ways,” says Pierre.

 Fozzy Release New Music Video.

FozzyFriday 3rd August 2018
With the band currently headlining shows and playing festivals such as Wacken Open Air (DE) and Bloodstock Open Air (UK) throughout Europe, FOZZY have just released the latest single and video for “Burn Me Out.”

Check out the video here:
The track was the fifth most added song at active rock radio on the first day of release in the US with the video (a live performance clip that shows the band rocking a jam-packed house party) garnering more than 30K views on its first day.

'Burn Me Out' marks the third focus track from FOZZY’s October 2017 album “Judas” - the band’s seventh studio album - released via Century Media Records.  The previous “Judas” releases 'Painless' and the album’s title track were both top 10 Active Rock hits.

“‘Burn Me Out’ is a sledgehammer riff and a million dollar chorus hook, that married the biggest jump groove since Kool And The Gang's ‘Jungle Boogie,’” Rich Ward (guitars, vocals) says of the track. “It quickly became one of the highlights of our live set and a fan favorite on our 2018 tour, so ‘Burn Me Out’ was the obvious choice as our next video and focus track. Adopting the theme, ‘There ain't no party like a FOZZY house party,’ we have captured the essence of ‘Burn Me Out’ and who we are as a band.”

Chris Jericho (vocals) adds, “4 out of 5 dentists have clarified that ‘Burn Me Out’ is THE song of the summer (and the one that didn’t likes Justin Bieber, so who cares what he thinks) and this video illustrates that! High energy, filled with multiple hooks and hot chicks…it’s the ultimate House Party and we aren’t talking about Kid N Play!”

FOZZY’s updated tour dates are as follows:
31.07.18 (IT) Pinarella di Cervia - Rock Planet
01.08.18 (SI) Ljubljana - Kino Siska
03.08.18 (DE) Wacken - Wacken Open Air

Neck Deep Announce 'In Bloom' EP.

Neck DeepWednesday 1st August 2018
On their recent UK Top 5 album, The Peace and The Panic, Wrexham-based Neck Deep pushed themselves in every way possible. Most evident of this was standout single 'In Bloom' which currently has just under 10 Million views on YouTube. Today, the band is treating fans to a digital EP with a couple of re-imagined versions of the track. In Bloom: Versions is available today on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify .
Frontman Ben Barlow shares "The idea for In Bloom: Versions came very naturally, initially after our friend Tony Hancock – aka Saxl Rose – came and played sax for us in Baltimore earlier this year. It was a pure jam, but we loved it and subsequently he played for us at the NYC and LA shows of that tour because we were just really feeling the vibe it brought to the song. From there, we decided a recorded version needed to be heard by everyone. Whilst we've been working on this recording, our boy Tony has only gone and played live with Paramore and done dates on Warped! Honestly, Tony is the man. We've also been playing an acoustic rendition of it at in-store and fan events since before the album was even officially released, so it seemed obvious that we should capture the vibe of that on a proper recording as well. And thus, In Bloom: Versions was a thing."
Barlow continues, "We feel that In Bloom is in itself a very diverse song, and so could be taken in a number of different directions, and this mini single really showcases that. It is such an important song to us, and such an accessible, catchy, beautiful song that we felt it deserved to be heard in its various renditions, for people to fall in love and enjoy in a new way, all over again."

Neck Deep embark on the second instalment of their US headline tour in September and October, before Australian shows in December, European shows in January, with their next UK shows coming in arenas in February next year alongside Don Broco.

Trophy Eyes To Release New Album 'The American Dream' On Friday..

Trophy EyesWednesday 1st August 2018
Trophy Eyes have released 'Friday Forever', the third single from their upcoming album The American Dream, out August 3rd on Hopeless Records.

The band have recently released two other singles from The American Dream – 'You Can Count On Me' and 'More Like You'.

The American Dream - the third album in the Trophy Eyes collection - is based on the idea that there's still utopia left on this planet – a place where one can start again and live a peaceful life, forsaking the trail of destruction that threatened to derail it all.

The album also serves as a coming of age fable, in which lead vocalist John Floreani takes an introspective look at who he is today. His story is brought to life in vivid colour with string arrangements produced by Chris Craker, who can list the soundtrack to Hans Zimmer's score of "Interstellar" and Hans Zimmer "The Classics" on his production resume.

"This record is about my life in present time and a reflection on who I was and how I got here," Floreani explains. "As much of the other Trophy Eyes works have been the hate, violence, addiction and heartbreak I fought so desperately to leave behind, this record is about shedding one's past, transitioning from boy to man, making a home and wanting nothing more in life than to sit and enjoy the silence."

The American Dream follows on from their critically acclaimed 2016 album Chemical Miracle, which debuted at #8 in Australia and was a significant launch pad for the band as they dominated Australia with back-to-back tours sold out months in advance in some of the biggest rooms in the country. Trophy Eyes also went on to conquer the globe with headline tours in North America and the UK, both slapping sold out signs on box offices around their respective territories.

Trophy Eyes now leads a new wave in rock music, blending their punk and hard-core roots with modern rock and pop sensibilities. Known for their brutally honest and emotional storytelling and lyricism combined with one of the most energetic live shows on the circuit, Trophy Eyes are set to takeover with the release of The American Dream on August 3.

New Years Day Release New Single 'Disgust Me'.

HalestormTuesday 31st July 2018
Hard rock band New Years Day have released an ominous music video for their single "Disgust Me". In the dark coming-of-age visual narrative, an all-red haired Ash Costello is summoned to an abandoned house where she meets her alter ego, a gothic goddess who conjures the collide of both worlds. Watch "Disgust Me" here.

"'Disgust Me' is about seeing the side of someone that they tend to hide. Whether it be because they have deemed it undesirable or unattractive for whatever reason or out of fear of being judged as less than because of the dark sides they possess. 'Disgust Me' is asking the listener to not be afraid to show these parts because it just may bring you relief instead of sorrow," comments Costello. "I am asked a lot why I decided to dye my hair half red and half black, so I saw the 'Disgust Me' music video as an opportunity to give that a story of its own. The all-black-haired girl calling upon the dark spirits to show themselves, and the all-red-haired girl who's been lost alone in the wilderness, coming together to make one whole person. To me it felt symbolic, like the two sides of me can both shine, the light and the dark."

"Disgust Me" is the first song on New Years Day's most-recent EP, Diary of a Creep, released in January 2018 and is accompanied by five cover songs. The six-song EP follows the tradition of landmark releases like Garage Days by Metallica by paying tribute to the artists who shaped the band. New Years Day offers renditions of Garbage's "Only Happy When It Rains," New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle," No Doubt's "Don't Speak" and more. The Orange County-based band performed "Only Happy When It Rains" alongside current tour mate Lzzy Hale at the 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards.

The release of the "Disgust Me" music video coincides with the start of the second leg of New Years Day's tour with Halestorm and In This Moment today. The all-female-fronted U.S. tour kicked off in May and will hit 35 additional cities through the end of the year. Visit for tickets. New Years Day has previously toured with Escape the Fate, Hellyeah and Attila in addition to headlining multiple North American tours, including the 2017 Vans Warped Tour.  Anti-Flag Announce Acoustic Album.

Anti-FlagTuesday 31st July 2018
Pittsburgh political punk band Anti-Flag have just announced a new acoustic album American Reckoning, set to be released on Spinefarm Records on September 28th. The album features acoustic versions of songs from their past two albums, as well as covers of songs that inspired them. Pre-orders for the album are available now via Spinefarm Records.

Anti-Flag have released a new music video for the acoustic version of "The Debate Is Over (If You Want It), check it out here:
The video was filmed in the band's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, and directed by Josh Massie and Anti-Flag. Anti-Flag began a full US tour with Rise Against and AFI on July 28th.

American Reckoning, the new acoustic album from Pittsburgh political punk band Anti-Flag, strips down some of the band’s latest hits to get to the heart of the message. The album features acoustic versions of songs off of their last two albums, American Spring (2015) and American Fall (2017), as well as covers of some of the classics that inspired them. By arranging these songs together, American Reckoning functions as an account of one of the country’s most tumultuous political times told by some of music’s sharpest political minds.

The American series, all released on Spinefarm Records, showcases why Anti-Flag is recognized as a staple in punk rock. Known for their left-wing politics, focusing on anti-war activism, imperialism, class struggle, human rights, and various sociopolitical sentiments, Anti-Flag have proven themselves as both dedicated activists and accomplished musicians since forming in 1993. Decades of strong political ideals and rousing punk rock songs have allowed the band to assemble a devoted fan base of likeminded individuals all across the world. A quote from the band on their new album can be found below.

"When you’re a band that has been together as long as Anti-Flag has you take nothing for granted. We have far exceeded any personal expectations we have had for the band, our art and the reach that it has had. This chapter of our band started with the hope of American Spring, the anger of American Fall and comes to cessation with American Reckoning...

This piece focuses on songs from both records (Spring/Fall) that we felt maintain their relevance, even in the distraction politic Donald Trump America, where issues and truth are distorted in a seconds time. We also wanted to provide insight into our influences that lead us to write the records, that’s where the covers come in. They are songs that people may not expect to be influential to Anti-Flag records but either in their messaging or sonics they were tremendously impactful to us as individuals and hence the song writing process.

We can not be knee jerk reactionary to a president that uses corporate media to endlessly lie, we created statements and art that we feel directly combat these tactics, American Reckoning has allowed us to revisit some of those previous statements and shine new light on them." - Anti-Flag

Anti-Flag have recently announced a UK/Euro tour this fall with Silverstein, Cancer Bats, and Worriers, as well as two ANTIfest indoor festival shows. ANTIfest is the band's own festival they have hosted in various locations in Europe, UK, and the U.S. since 2012. Lineups and other information for the fest can be found below, along with a full list of tour dates.

American Reckoning was recorded in Pittsburgh, PA, and mixed and mastered by long time Anti-Flag engineer Justin Francis. The album's artwork was designed by Doug Dean, who also did the artwork for both American Spring and American Fall.

Recorded earlier this year in Baltimore, MD with producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Ariana Grande, Underoath), MISERY is the long-awaited follow-up to The Amity Affliction’s acclaimed fifth studio album,THIS COULD BE HEARTBREAK. That LP landed at #1 in the UK rock chart upon its 2016 arrival (#51 in the main chart, a career high), entered at #26 on the U.S. SoundScan/Billboard 200, while clinching #1 again in their native Australia – The Amity Affliction’s third consecutive time topping the ARIA Album Chart.

THIS COULD BE HEARTBREAK – which includes the singles/videos, “This Could Be Heartbreak,” “I Bring The Weather With Me,” “All F*cked Up,” and “Fight My Regret” – earned acclaim and press attention along with its popular success, including the front cover of both Kerrang! and Rolling Stone Australia. Kerrang! awarded the album four Ks, hailing it as the band’s “personal-best” while noting, “This is heartbreak, and The Amity Affliction have rendered it more magnificently than ever.” “(The Amity Affliction’s) ear for an unstoppable melody demands respect,” declared Metal Hammer, while Blunt noted, “(THIS COULD BE HEARTBREAK) strikes from a darker angle…its melancholy burns fervent.” “Synth-soaked tracks and lyrical masterpieces dominate the album,” raved Vulture Magazine, “showing the Amity boys have an ability to provide a definitive yet ever-evolving sound, tying in new fans while still catering to the old.” “(THIS COULD BE HEARTBREAK) glistens with vivid memories and brutal honesty that is unapologetic,” wrote Outburn, while Alternative Press summed it best: “The Amity Affliction are at their strongest.”

THIS COULD BE HEARTBREAK followedThe Amity Affliction’s ARIA platinum-certified #1 album, LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME, which proved an international breakthrough for the group. LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME marked The Amity Affliction’s second consecutive time topping the ARIA Album Chart following 2012’s gold certified CHASING GHOSTS. More recently, the band released SEEMS LIKE FOREVER, the #1 ARIA gold certified documentary chronicling The Amity Affliction’s history up through their epic “Let The Ocean Take Me World Tour,” which saw the band performing in front of sold-out crowds around the globe, including shows at New York City’s Irving Plaza and London’s KOKO. Furthermore, the single, “Shine On” came in at #25 on Triple J’s “Hottest 100” of 2016. For more than a decade, The Amity Affliction has confronted the very darkest edges of man’s existence through their music and with SEVERED TIES, 2008’s full-length debut, and 2010’s ARIA gold-certified follow-up, YOUNGBLOODS, The Amity Affliction instantly established themselves as leading force in the heavy music world.

Shvpes Release New Single 'Calloused Hands'.

ShvpesTuesday 31st July 2018
Shvpes (pronounced 'Shapes') have released a brand-new single 'Calloused Hands' from their forthcoming album, Greater Than. Watch the video for 'Calloused Hands' here:
"This is the first song we wrote together after coming back from our first European tour," says Shvpes vocalist, Griffin Dickinson. "We'd been out for 6 weeks, experiencing something we'd always dreamed of... As soon as we got back, as with most tours, reality hits and you're sucked back into the 'real world' that pressures you to go and get a 'real job' I.e. doing something you probably don't care about, for some narcissistic company that equally doesn't care about you. This song was all about reminding myself why I don't want to be a part of that. With lyrics like "capitalise; cannibalise" & "paralysed by your next fix" it's exploring the futility of the paper chase."
Shvpes will release their second studio album, Greater Than, on November 9th via Search and Destroy/ Spinefarm Records. Pre-orders, including exclusive bundles, are now live here:
Direct link to the Shvpes vinyl, cd and t-shirt options here:

Having initially planned to run with three 'mixtapes' leading into the full record next year, the band have decided to bring the album forward, following an incredible fan response to first single "Undertones", issuing it as a single body of work, to support an exciting autumn/winter touring schedule.
Written in Snowdonia, Wales, and recorded at Treehouse Studios in Chesterfield with world renowned producer and Engineer, Jim Pinder (Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head, While She Sleeps), Greater Than is truly genre-defying; combing hip-hop and metal, plus alternative rock and urban elements, this is heavy music for the adventurous and open-minded.

Says Shvpes vocalist, Griffin, "What we've created feels bold, and I'm not worried about people getting pissed off – they can take it or leave it. A lot of people are going to absolutely love it."

Matt Heafy of Trivium – one of Shvpes' biggest inspirations – collaborates on the song, "Rain"; but despite this being the most metal track on the album, Matt's vocals, unpredictably, feature on the rap section...

"That just seemed like the perfect part," says Griffin, "because we didn't want to give him a screamy-shouty verse, we wanted to do something a bit different. We put about 10 takes of him on there, so we've got this vocal gang monster!"
Since releasing their highly-praised 2016 debut Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair. Shvpes have been riding the wave of acclaim that rapidly attached itself to their name, touring Europe with some of the biggest bands in hard rock (Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Blessthefall) and appearing at festivals the world over. But in 2018, with Greater Than the band have truly arrived...

Elvis Costello And The Imposters Announce New Album 'Look Now'.

Elvis CostelloWTuesday 31st July 2018
Elvis Costello and The Imposters – Steve Nieve (keyboards), Davey Faragher (bass), Pete Thomas (drums) – have made a sensational new album that ranks alongside the best work this singularly great artist has ever produced.

Recorded in Hollywood, New York City and Vancouver, British Columbia, 'Look Now' is beautiful in its simplicity, reflective in its lyrical vision, surrounded by melodies and orchestrations that are nothing short of heavenly. It's the first album Costello has made with The Imposters since the 2008 release of 'Momofuku' and his first new album since the acclaimed 2013 Roots collaboration, 'Wise Up Ghost'.

Anyone anywhere in the world who has seen Elvis Costello and The Imposters live can testify to their unmitigated swagger. Costello's suspicion that it was time to return to the studio was confirmed while on the 'Imperial Bedroom & Other Chambers' tour of the USA, last summer and he realized the power and sheer musicality of The Imposters had never really been fully captured on one record.

"I knew if we could make an album with the scope of 'Imperial Bedroom' and some of the beauty and emotion of 'Painted From Memory', we would really have something", said Costello.

'Look Now' is an outstanding 12-strong addition to his song catalogue. Most of the titles were written solely by Elvis Costello although, 'Don't Look Now' and 'Photographs Can Lie' were co-written with Burt Bacharach, who makes a guest appearance, leading The Imposters from the piano for those two ballads.

Another song to which Bacharach contributed, 'He's Given Me Things' features some of the best singing Elvis has ever recorded, while 'Burnt Sugar Is So Bitter' was written with Carole King and closes with a serpentine horn line winding around Steve Nieve's atmospheric keyboard parts.

The album was co-produced by Elvis and Sebastian Krys - the Latin Grammy Producer of the Year for 2007 and 2015, whose love and understanding of music spans both hemispheres.

Sebastian had worked extensively with Pete and Davey in the Los Angeles studios, so it's no surprise that this dynamic rhythm section was incredibly well-prepared for the recording sessions. "When Pete and Davey are in this kind of rare form, it's wise to get on the back-beat with your Telecaster and stay out of their way", said Costello.

Speaking of his own role as co-producer, Costello said, "I had all of the orchestrations and vocal parts in my head or on the page before we played a note, so it was essential that I worked closely with Steve Nieve to maintain the light and space in the arrangements and allow him to shine."

Costello completed the picture by adding both guitar and his own vibraphone or celesta parts to his orchestrations but remarked, "Sebastian was there to make sure only the essential notes got onto the record, whether it was a fuzz-tone guitar or jazz bassoon."

"In the final mixing, Sebastian did a beautiful job of keeping everything present but always lead by emotion or narrative, although when balancing the band, my voice and the quartet of woodwinds and horns that I'd written for 'Stripping Paper', I told him to "Just trust the blur."

From today, fans who pre-order the 12-track standard or the 16-song deluxe album from digital retailers will instantly receive a download of two of the album's standout tracks 'Under Lime' and 'Unwanted Number'.

Asked for a further comment on the "Instant Gratification" phenomenon, Costello said, "That's just the latest record business gimmick-speak for something you can get right away. I have to be straight with you; that sounds like a personal service that you might be offered in a dubious massage parlour."

"I'd prefer to say that "The Elvis Costello Record Shop" is open for business again and when you pre-order the album, 'Look Now' you can get a couple of songs, RIGHT NOW"

Look out for more of these RIGHT NOW songs from 'Look Now' dropping in the weeks prior to the album's release.

 Crossfaith Unleash New Single.

CrossfaithTuesday 31st July 2018
Osaka's Crossfaith have today released the video for 'Catastrophe', the latest track from their new album, EX_MACHINA, set for release on August 3 via UNFD.

Speaking of the track, singer Kenta Koie says, "Catastrophe is another new song from our new album Ex Machina, which we are very excited about releasing! To inspire me to write this song I watched DEVILMAN crybaby, which is a famous Japanese sci-fi action anime, and it helped me write the lyrics. We always want our fans to experience something they've never had before through our music and shows, so we are looking forward to seeing everyone on our UK & Europe tour later this year!"
EX_MACHINA is the Japanese band's fifth album and the follow-up to 2015's critically acclaimed XENO. The album features an impressive cameo from Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds as well industrial hip hoppers Ho99o9.

EX _MACHINA is a concept album set in an alternative near future in which the ruling class, known as Angels, maintain their world through artificial intelligence and other technology, which dehumanises people and effectively turns them into drones
Frontman Kenta 'Ken' Koie explains: "After we released last album XENO, we were thinking about what the next theme for us is. Then we decided to put theme "Awake the individuality". Because we've always trying to make new things and that's the big part of band's attitudes.
Technology has been advancing from when I was kid, and it definitely helps the world but at the same time I feel like technology take out important process to think about individuality in exchange for convenience.
This album is a grave warning for our future, I hope you guys listen to this and think about what the meaning of this album is for you and feel how you feel through this album and start something for your future."

Slash Releases New Single 'Driving Rain'.

SlashTuesday 31st July 2018

MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS will release their new album titled LIVING THE DREAM on 21st September 2018 via SLASH's own label Snakepit Records, in partnership with RoadrunnerRecords The group unleashed "Driving Rain"- the first single off LIVING THE DREAM—today. Listen to "Driving Rain" HERE and watch the trailer HERE and purchase the new song digitally HERE.

SLASH describes the creation of "Driving Rain" "This is a riff I specifically remember playing with the guys for the first time at a venue in New Hampshire on the World on Firetour," explains SLASH. "It's a cool guitar part we ran through, and from that point forward the rest of the song started to come together in my mind while on the road. We put it all together this year and Myles came up with a great melody for it." MYLES KENNEDY adds, "The riff is very reminiscent of vintage Aerosmith. It's got a certain funk to it that's compelling. Lyrically, it's a story about somebody who works on the road--it could be a musician, and it could be a traveling salesman. What makes it interesting is this guy has an addict girlfriend or spouse who continues to relapse, and she ends up getting him to come home. She's miserable and falls back into bad old habits, and that compels him to head back to her to save the day."

LIVING THE DREAMis SLASH's fourth solo album, and third with SLASH and his bandmates MYLES KENNEDY (Vocals), BRENT FITZ (Drums), TODD KERNS (Bass & Vocals) and FRANK SIDORIS (Guitar & Vocals). Today, Wednesday, 25thJuly the band has launched a physical pre-order for LIVING THE DREAM including CD, Heavyweight vinyl and a limited edition Deluxe Premium Set consisting of  2LP Yellow Vinyl within a Premium "Living The Dream" Vinyl-size 20 page Hardback Book, an exclusive one-sided 7" single of "Driving Rain" featuring an etching on the B-side with a special set of SLASH plectrumsStandard Physical CD album and  poster. All formats are available to order along with a limited-edition T-shirt and Hoodie. To view a variety of the LIVING THE DREAM CD/merchandise bundles available now:

Jon Spencer Releases The Hits Solo Album.

Jon SpencerWednesday 25th July 2018
JON SPENCER, THE BLUES EXPLOSION MAN who put the BELLBOTTOMS on BABY DRIVER! The Top Cat who spread the Secret Sauce in BOSS HOG! The Rockabilly Right-Hook from Heavyweight Outlaws HEAVY TRASH! The Swank-Fucking Master of PUSSY GALORE!

Jon Spencer is back! Often imitated, never duplicated, the original NYC underground-rock legend returns from the wilderness with twelve red-hot hits, each more powerful than the last!

This is Garage Punk for Now People! A wizard's brew of rhythm & blues and subversive dance grooves, weaponized with sci-fi skronk and industrial attitude, calibrated for the Revolution, a ball-peen hammer of sound guaranteed to destroy any post-modern hangover!

Pulsing with energy, clanging with excitement, and dripping with radioactive soul and raw emotion, Jon Spencer opens up his heart like never before, exploring man's modern condition with caustic guitars and outerworld crooning, asking and answering the musical question, "Is it possible to torch the cut-throat world of fake news and pre-fab, plastic-coated teen ennui with the cold hard facts of rock'n'roll?"

This is the truth serum the World has been craving, the beginning of a rock'n'roll special counsel that takes no prisoners and puts the squares on ice.

For the recording, Jon travelled to the wilds of Benton Harbor, MI, to work with Bill Skibbe at the fabled Key Club Recording Company (where he had previously recorded the 2012 Blues Explosion album 'Meat and Bone') and enlisted the help and talents of friends Sam Coomes (Quasi, Heatmeiser) and M. Sord (M. Sord) to help track the songs.

"Sam is someone with whom I have crossed paths many times over the years, explains Spencer. "I have always been a fan of his wild keyboard style and twisted tunesmith-ery. (In fact we kicked around the idea of a collaboration way back in the early aughts.) I got to know Sord from previous visits to and projects done at the Key Club (Andre Williams, JSBX, & Boss Hog), he was the handyman and assistant engineer that turned out to be a great drummer."
They set to work in the fall of 2017 where the songs were roughed out and brought to life on the studio floor, before the session was cut short due to the sudden death of Jon's father-in-law.

"I had to rush back East to be with family, he explains. "But we accomplished enough - got basics down for all songs. I went back to Michigan (solo) in January to overdub and mix. In general, throughout the project, I tried not to overthink anything and instead just kept pushing forward, trusting in my instincts. I figured that I had already spent months and years thinking about this record and these songs"

'Spencer Sings The Hits!' comes strutting and swaggering out of your speakers, opening track 'Do The Trash Can', revving into life with a stripped-down floor tom-snare groove, before Spencer detonates the song into life with a howl of distortion and noise. It's perfect Jon Spencer rock n' roll in every way and with a sly nod to the past, features the clanking metal percussion associated with former band Pussy Galore (* former Pussy Galore cohort Bob Bert will be banging metal on live dates!)
"Nothing like digging the gas tank from an old Chevy out of a Michigan junkyard snow bank in January," laughs Spencer. "The junkyard owner kept asking me if the metal was for a school project, but as a bluegrass player he could understand the possible use for a recording session."
Eleven prime slices of righteous rock n'roll follow. Smouldering and smoking and exploding out of the valves. Jon Spencer IS rock n'roll.
'Spencer Sings the Hits!' is released November 2nd on In The Red Records and is available to pre-order from:

The Xcerts Announce And Tour Dates.

The XcertsWednesday 25th July 2018
Following a triumphant main stage appearance at 2000trees and ahead of a UK Tour with The Goo Goo Dolls, The XCERTS release an acoustic version of single 'Daydream' on 24th July. The track comes from a brand new EP entitled 'Late One Night' out via Raygun Records on October 5th. The EP will be released as a limited edition signed and numbered 12" Vinyl and will feature 5 brand new versions of songs from the bands recent, magnificent 'Hold On To Your Heart' album with an etched Hold On To Your Heart Rose Design on the flip side.

The XCERTS Murray Macleod says of the new EP, "The idea to record quieter versions of songs from 'Hold On To Your Heart' came on our in-store run promoting the record. We really got a kick out of playing these stripped back versions and thought we should get them on tape. We recorded the entire EP in one night which lent a nice organic feel to it and hopefully makes for a nice contrast to the album. We have a tendency to over analyse so it was cool just to hangout and keep the session as loose as possible. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it."

 Petrol Girls Announce Massive Tour.

Petrol GirlsWednesday 25th July 2018
Petrol Girls have announced an extensive run of shows across Europe, kicking off in September, which will follow up the band's forthcoming performances at Reading & Leeds Festivals. The 17 date tour includes an appearance at Loud Women Fest in London on 15th Sept and a headline show at Mother's Ruin in Bristol on 14th Sept. The feminist post-hardcore troupe will also be releasing a new EP on 14th September, titled 'The Future Is Dark'. The three track release will come out via Hassle Records and features the previously released 'Survivor', which is an affecting composition that stands in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence. Full tour dates and EP track listing below.

The EP title came from reading 'Woolf's Darkness' by Rebecca Solnit. She writes about accepting uncertainty and not fearing the dark or the unknown because actually we don't know what will happen next. She describes despair and optimism both as forms of certainty that create grounds for not acting, whereas hope pushes us to act and make change in whatever ways we can. Vocalist Ren Aldridge elaborates "We wrote the EP right in the middle of the political shit storm that was 2017, and Rebecca Solnit's writing definitely helped me to not become totally overwhelmed! It really helped me to zoom out and to see each political battle as part of a bigger movement with a history of slowly pushing things in a better direction. It makes me feel tiny but part of something huge, like when its dark but you look up and there's loads of stars."

 Beartooth Release New Single 'Disease'.

BeartoothWednesday 25th July 2018
Today Columbus, OH rock band Beartooth are pleased to announce the details of their third studio album's release. Entitled Disease, the band's third effort is a stark look inward and the next installment chronicling frontman Caleb Shomo's battle with his own demons. Disease will be released globally on September 28th but today fans can pre-order the album and receive instant downloads of album tracks 'Bad Listener' and 'Disease.' Preorders at the band's website include limited and exclusive Disease vinyl and merch bundles.
Disease is a painstaking, riff-driven examination of the unshakeable throes of depression. While there are moments of positivity, this isn't the sound of triumph. This is music about survival.

"The album is a whirlwind of emotion," Shomo explains. "Crazy highs, crazy lows, and lots of intensity. This record isn't about winning anything. It's about trying to even begin to learn how to deal with things. It's hard to process just how dark you can get, what you can really put yourself through with expectations. It's like starting from the beginning all over again. At the end of the day, it is a very dark album."

Even as Shomo and his bandmates played to sold-out crowds across Europe, the battle against mental illness and childhood issues returned, and the seed for Disease was planted. The title track was the first song written for it, setting the overall tone.

Watch the video for title track 'Disease' here.

As always, Shomo recorded vocals, guitars, bass, and drums, and mixed the album himself with assistance from an engineer, now with executive producer (and Grammy winner) Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with Foo Fighters and Rush.

To further enhance the emotional realism Beartooth champions, the third full-length album was tracked in a brand new environment, with an old-school urgency. After crafting the songs in his usual basement domain, Shomo made the trip from the familiar comfort of his equipment and isolation in Ohio to Blackbird in Nashville. The famous recording studio was the birthplace of pivotal work from a massive list of legends, tastemakers, and up-and-comers; like Alice In Chains, Taylor Swift, and Greta Van Fleet.

In celebration of Disease, Beartooth will be taking off on a headline tour in the fall. Kicking off on September 14th in Grand Rapids MI the tour takes the band all across the states and back, wrapping up at Express Live! in their hometown of Columbus OH on November 17th. A full list of dates can be found below.  Tickets go on sale Friday 7/27 @ 10am local.

Following the announcement of new music and a brand new album, You Me At Six today set out their plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album 'Take Off Your Colours' with three huge UK shows. These special one-off events will see the acclaimed five piece -currently riding high on the feverish anticipation for forthcoming album 'VI' (out October 5th on Underdog Records / AWAL)- play their seminal genre-classic 'Take Off Your Colours' in its entirety.

You Me At Six will be celebrating 'Take Off Your Colours' 10th anniversary with the below dates:

 Asylums Unleash 'Napalm Bubblegum'.

AsylumsWednesday 25th July 2018
Following the reaction to their recent single 'Millennials' which gathered huge support across radio stations and press in the UK (including BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, The Independent, Music Week, Kerrang! And more) , Southend rockers Asylums have switched gears and have shared album track and fan favourite,  'Napalm Bubblegum'.  Last week Asylums laid waste to Rough Trade stores across the country, culminating in a near riotous performance at Rough Trade East.  Check it out here.

"Napalm Bubblegum is the other side of the coin from our recent single Millennials, it's our raging, screwed up, hyperactive side. This song felt really vital at last week's packed out Rough Trade East in-store in London. We didn't expect to end up crowd surfing and seeing the audience go wild, it's exciting to see so many new people discovering the band right now"  - Luke Branch

Asylums released their sophomore album, 'Alien Human Emotions'  earlier this month to huge critical acclaim.

Asylums aren't waiting for millennial redemption to find them, they're making their own. Straight out of Essex and running at full throttle.  The band have taken the challenge of the "difficult" second album and used it as a jump ramp to a higher plane. They've always been about massive, thrashing melodic anthems but this is, quite simply, the massivist. The band has changed fundamentally in the last two years, certainly older and potentially wiser. A project that started out as a fizzing ball of un-focused youthful energy (albeit one with great tunes) has morphed into something altogether darker and more intense. It's a slug of ice-cold Jagermeister coming after the two pints of lager and a vodka Red Bull of the debut.

"Alien Human Emotions" tackles themes of bitter sex and soured relationships which swirl over bleak analyses of a disintegrating social and political landscape. Frustrated rage writhes below the surface on every track and occasionally bursts through with a shocking intensity. But everywhere are hooks both musical and lyrical that demand repeat listens. The music seeping thru owes as much to the brooding darkness of The Cure as it does to the disjointed mind of Flaming Lips singer Wayne Coyne, both of which only add to the dark danceability of the album.

What you have to look forward to is twelve tracks of killer hooks, soaring melodies, moments of dark audio experimentalism and a social conscience worn like a high-viz jacket. Clear a space in your end-of-year lists now.

Be sure to catch their thrilling live show at one of the following shows which includes a headline show in London at Camden Assembly on November 9th

Halestorm Release New Single 'Do Not Disturb'.

HalestormWednesday 25th July 2018
With their brand new album 'Vicious' dropping next Friday, 27th July, US rockers Halestorm have today shared hot new track 'Do Not Disturb' from the record.

Although based on a true story, the raunchy song wasn't originally intended to be a Halestorm track. Frontwoman Lzzy Hale explains, "I don't just write songs for Halestorm, it's a primal need of mine. I write songs every day, and I always have a little tablet/notebook in my leather jacket, and this was one of those songs that I was experimenting with. I have an album of about 15 songs that are kind of synth-based, a little darker and I ended up showing it to the guys, like 'hey check out this weird stuff I've been doing' and they all really liked this song. I think it was Joe who said, 'I think we could make this one into a rock song', so we ended up taking out all the weird sounds that I had in it and replacing them with what we do best."

"It's a good, dirty sex song," interjects guitarist Joe Hottinger. Lzzy adds, "I had fun, I like to push the envelope with the sex stuff and it's very much a part of who I am... and sex, drugs, and rock n' roll go hand in hand, so I hope you enjoy it!"

"Hand in hand in hand," quips Joe. "Well, two is better than one, and three is better than two..." closes Lzzy, referencing the song's lyrics, which rapidly sent fans into melt-down on social media.

Alkaline Trio Back With New Single 'Blackbird' And Announce New Album 'Is This Thing Cursed?'.

Alkaline TrioSaturday 20th July 2018
Alkaline Trio have announced a new album "Is This Thing Cursed?" that is to be released digitally on August 31st. Vinyl for the album will be released on October 19th and pre-orders are available now at:
This is the band's 9th studio release and their first new music in 5 years.

Watch the video for the band's new song "Blackbird":

"Is This Thing Cursed?" is the first Alkaline Trio album written almost entirely in the studio. It's when the songs began to come together that the band noticed the new material forming parallels with "Maybe I'll Catch Fire". According to the band, "Is This Thing Cursed?" is a cousin or sibling to Fire. Co-lead vocalist and bassist Dan Andriano explains, "The songwriting process is almost like what it was back in the day. We would just kind of write a song, be excited about it, then move on. We wrote in that spirit in the studio. I really feel like we made a record that the old school fans are going to dig."

In June, Alkaline Trio announced a headlining US tour. Co-lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Skiba notes, "Some people thought we were done. We announced a tour and a lot of the shows are already sold out. Nobody knows that we made a new record. It's not unlike getting somebody that you care about something extra super special for their birthday and you're really excited to give it to them. It feels kind of like that."

The August dates begin August 3 in Dallas, TX at The Bomb Factory and go throughout August 26 in Orlando, FL at House of Blues. The second leg picks-up on October 4 in Santa Ana, CA at The Observatory and will conclude on October 18 on Santa Cruz, at The Catalyst. Together PANGEA is on the tour as support.

Dead Letter Circus Release New Single 'The Real You'.

Dead Letter CircusFriday 20th July 2018
One of Australia’s most loved bands DEAD LETTER CIRCUS have released their brand new single ‘The Real You’ into the world today. To coincide with the release, the band has also shared eagerly awaited details on their forthcoming self-titled album.

Check out 'The Real You' here:

"Dead Letter Circus" was recorded over a six week period at Studio Circuit on the Gold Coast and will be released worldwide via BMG on September 21. Available for pre-order now, the album will be the band’s first set of all-new material since 2015’s (ARIA # 2) long player "Aesthesis".

"Dead Letter Circus" repeats the winning production combination of Forrester Savell (Karnivool) and Matt Bartlem (Jarryd James, Matt Corby), arriving at the most organic album of the band’s career. Light on digital programming but riddled with giant hooks, "Dead Letter Circus" perfectly merges the quintet’s trademark combination of ethereal atmospherics and towering riffs. It just might be the band’s most political statement to date.

Lyrically, the album strikes at the heart of what makes humans tick, and the insecurities and psychological foibles that can make us all so fragile. This is never more evident than in the band’s anthemic new single ‘The Real You’, which sees frontman Kim Benzie examining the culture shift brought about by social media.

"'The Real You' was me absorbing the cultural changes that have grown around Social Media," says Benzie. “Life should be a journey towards letting go of the mask you create with your insecurities when you’re young. It feels like we’ve accidently created a culture where the concept of the mask is now what you aspire towards. The song is about craving an interaction that doesn’t have a filter.”

Larry And His Flask Announce Tour Dates.

Larry And His FlaskFriday 2th July 2018
There's a storm on its way, a raucous and tumultuous swirl of bluegrass, punk, folk and gypsy jazz. Larry and His Flask are back! Returning to the UK and Europe in August for a handful of shows and festival dates including Boom Town Fair in Hampshire – they have re-signed with Xtra Mile Recordings and plans are underway for their new album due in 2019.

Boasting an eclectic set of instruments that propel their shows to all-new heights - stand up bass, trumpets, banjos, trombones, harmonica, guitars and drums are all in the band's artillery – the quintet from Oregon are a tour de force live. It's been too long since we've all had the pleasure to be a part of that, and with the new album waiting in the wings for 2019, it's like coming home for Larry and His Flask. "When we were faced with what company to approach for our new album XMR was our first and only choice. Not to mention they have some of our favourite bands on their label. We are so excited to be part of the XMR family with Frank Turner, Against Me, Skinny Lister and on and on. XMR is a perfect fit for us."

The band are over next month to plays a few shows. "We have always loved playing in the UK and EU. The reception to our music is always so warm. We get treated very well," says Jamin.

The Story So Far Announce New Album 'Proper Dose'

The Story So FarFriday 20th July 2018
A lot can happen in three years, and for The Story So Far, a whole lot did. After the release of their third, self-titled album in 2015, the band's routine writing, recording, and touring had caught up with them. "We were so burnt from touring, and playing the same songs over and over again," says Parker Cannon, the band's vocalist and lyricist, "We knew we had to take a step back and collect ourselves." By taking that time to recharge, The Story So Far were able to look at themselves with fresh eyes and newfound creative ambitions, returning with their most cohesive and confident record to date.

Out September 21st on Pure Noise Records,Proper Dose shows just how much The Story So Far have grown as both people and musicians. They take bold creative leaps, finally making the record that they'd always wanted to. "This one, all the way through, I just think it's leaps and bounds ahead of anything we've ever done," says Cannon.

As is the case with every The Story So Far album, guitarist Kevin Geyer and drummer Ryan Torf shepherded the creative direction. "We didn't really have a deadline," says Geyer, "And the biggest enabler of us getting the record to where we wanted it was having time to work on it." Over the course of a full year, Geyer and Torf shaped the songs that would become the backbone of Proper Dose, often starting them on instruments like the wurlitzer or synthesizer before bringing them to the rest of the band.

Holing up with producer and engineer Sam Pura, The Story So Far spent just as much time reworking the songs on Proper Doseas they did writing them. "Since our last record, we've all collectively really gotten into The Beatles," says Geyer. "It's not like we're trying to sound like The Beatles, but it just gives you a crash course in songwriting and how you can experiment but retain your identity." Proper Dosemakes full use of those influences, allowing the band to push themselves to into new spaces while bringing their fans up to speed on everything that's happened in the past three years.

Cannon says the question the band kept asking themselves while making the album was, "How do we stay the same but get better?" The answer was found by never settling, opting instead to push the songs into spaces that felt exciting and new. "It was a challenging process," says Torf, "But it was a very rewarding process." The culmination of that effort can be heard in songs like "Take Me As You Please" and "Let It Go," where The Story So Far builds orante pop songs that retain the energy and urgency of their early work.

Aided by the mixing of Eric Valentine, who has worked with bands like Third Eye Blind, Queens Of The Stone Age, and countless others, Proper Dosebecame a cohesive album by effectively uniting the band's past with their present. Cannon's voice remains anthemic, but his range has expanded along with the band's sonic palette. Geyer and guitarist Will Levy compose parts that are nuanced and evocative, allowing the the rhythm section of Torf and bassist Kelen Capener to wander more than ever before. Using a diverse set of reference points, the songs explore new directions, be it the Oasis-indebted "Upside Down" or the electronic-flecked "Line."

Listen to the debut track, 'Let It Go' now
At its core, Proper Doseis about finding balance between the person you were and the person you wish to be, and it shows the band working to bridge that gap. It's a brave record, the kind that sees The Story So Far showing their fans just how far they've come and inviting them to go on the journey with them.

Watch 'New Waves' - HERE

From DREAM STATE vocalist CJ on the single/video - "I wanted to show our fans, as I know a lot of them are going through their own troubles, that they have it in them to push through it. Sometimes we have to face our battles alone, but there is always going to be that inner voice that tells you that you've got this and that is the one you need to be listening to. We had so many amazing quotes sent through that any weak moment I had during the filming process, I had all these amazing, positive quotes surrounding me that brought a tear to my eye and it helped me perform better than I ever have. I hope our listeners can take from this and see that they have that strength in them too. They are surrounded by people just like them and they are not alone with it. Practice positive thinking."

Anti-Flag Announce European And UK Tour.

Anti-FlagTuesday 17th July 2018
Pittsburgh political punk band Anti-Flag have just announced a UK/Euro tour this fall with Silverstein, Cancer Bats, and Worriers. Tickets are on sale now.
"Anti-Flag have always seen punk rock as a vehicle for change; community leads to recognizing commonality, which leads to a recognition of our collective power, which leads to us knowing we have the power to create the future we want to see.

This tour, this line-up, eclectic in sonics but all bands believe in sharing empathy over apathy, optimism over cynicism. The goal is to bring people from all walks of life through the door. Introducing them to new people, new friendships, new ideas.

Silverstein: a band we have done countless Warped Tours with... have been comrades in arms for years (hell, Chris #2 and Paul Marc play ice hockey together). They’re a powerful band, we’ve shared stages all over the world, but this will be our first club tour together.

Cancer Bats: some of our oldest friends... we’ve toured together in Canada, the US, played shows in the UK, but finally get to trek across Europe together. Their newest album is a perfect representation of their ability to connect with people in the hardcore, metal and punk rock world. They are a band made up from kids forged in those scenes.

Worriers: some of our newest friends! This band being a part of the tour is an incredible honour. The members of Worriers are some of the most committed people in punk rock, their work and time should be applauded. Survival Pop is one of our favourite records in the last few years and we cannot wait to hear these songs every night.

As with any Anti-Flag tour, records, bands, and t-shirts are not the predications of our work. Amnesty International, Sea Shepherd, Kein Bock Auf Nazis, (and hopefully many other local organizations) will be involved. Disseminating ideas on how to fight fascism, fight for human rights and fight for the life of our planet at every show. At a time when we see the right and fascism as a whole on the rise, racism being emboldened, and hatred commonplace in public discourse... these shows will hopefully provide solace, a place for us all to come together and recognize our power, recharge our strength and continue to fight bigotry with every breath we take.

'These are the days that test your heart and soul. Strap yourself in for the American Fall.'"  Anti-Flag

In conjunction with their tour announcement, Anti-Flag have released a music video for "Trouble Follows Me." The video was directed Alexey Makhov and filmed in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, during the band's current European summer tour. The song comes from their 2017 album American Fall, available now via Spinefarm Records.

Watch Anti-Flag's video for "Trouble Follows Me" HERE.

Anti-Flag have been staples in the punk rock scene since they formed in 1993. The band is well known for its left-wing political views, focusing on anti-war activism, imperialism, class struggle, human rights, and various socio-political sentiments. Their most recent album American Fall was released in 2017.
UK Tour Dates w/ Silverstein and Cancer Bats:

The Fiam Release New Single 'Summer Is A Curse'.

The FaimTuesday 17th July 2018
The Faim are excited to announce they will be main support for Against The Current for their Autumn UK & Europe tour.  The 18 date tour will see them hitting many cities for the first time, including Dublin, Ireland. Full dates are below.

Their song,  "Summer Is A Curse" has had over 1.2 million streams to date and is currently in the Top 50 airplay charts in Germany.  You can watch the official video HERE

The video follows frontman Josh Raven and his love interest on the run from the law, eventually escaping before it all goes up in flames. It also showcases the band delivering a stellar live performance with the Welsh countryside as a fitting backdrop.
The song was co-written with Ashton Irwin of 5 Seconds of Summer, and according to Josh, " 'Summer is a Curse' is a reflection of our journey as a band. Being placed out of Australia and in LA for the first time as a band, we got thrown into this whole new world of exciting experiences and pressures. As frightening as it was, and no matter our feelings at home, it became this tunnel vision of realising that we had this chance to make our dreams a reality. Our music video reflecting that exact same feeling of freedom was so important for us."

The track follows the massive debuts of the quartet's previous releases, "Saints Of The Sinners" and "Midland Line." which collectively have over 1.6 million streams to date.  All of the band's songs were produced with the legendary John Feldmann (blink-182, All Time Low, Good Charlotte) and have racked up support from VEVO, BBC Radio 1's Dan P Carter, Upset, Rock Sound, TMRW, Alternative Press, MTV, The Box, Scuzz and more. Stream and purchase "Summer Is A Curse" HERE.
The Aussie pop-rock quartet kicked off 2018 with extensive global touring this year supporting Lower Than AtlantisSleeping With SirensPVMNTS, The Dangerous Summer, PVRIS across 5 tours and 54 shows.  These included sold out Headline shows and some of the most talked about appearances at The Great Escape, Slam Dunk, Camden Rocks & Download festivals. The band will return to the UK & Europe later in the Summer for tours with Waterparks and Sum 41, Reading & Leeds Festivals and with Against The Current.

All tickets can be purchased HERE, and a full list of shows can be found below.
During the recording process of their forthcoming release, The Faim have teamed up with some of the scene's biggest luminaries, including Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, Twenty One Pilots' Josh Dun, and blink-182's Mark Hoppus.  Living With Lions Release Video For 'Tidal Wave'.

Living With LionsMonday 16th July 2018
Living With Lions are excited to share the warped new video 'Tidal Wave' taken from their incredible third full-length studio album 'Island' set for release on  September 21st via Redfield Records (EU) No Sleep (USA) Bloom Records (CAN) Ice Grill$ (JPN).

Watch 'Tidal Wave' Here
Preorder 'Island' Here

'Island' was recorded by Stu McKillop (Comeback Kid, The Dreadnoughts) at Rain City Recorders, and mixed/mastered by Kyle Black (Boston Manor, Comeback Kid) at Alley Studios in Los Angeles. Life-affirming. Emotive. Empowering. These are clear and vital watchwords that reveal themselves when confronted by the barrage of impassioned, caustic vocal melodies, breakneck drums, all flanked by gargantuan punk-rock guitar and bass riffs that are stacked in abundance throughout the latest impressive offering from the Vancouver five-piece.

Living With Lions have been making waves around the world since 2009 with their trademark dynamics, anthemic melodies, and combustible live shows, as well as releasing their critically acclaimed sophomore studio album, 'Holy Shit' in 2011. With the departure of front-man Stu Ross in early 2012, many questioned what this would mean for the future of Living With Lions; Chase, Landon, Loren, and Bill did not. "It was a big decision, but not a hard one. There was so much more we wanted to accomplish as a band"  says Chase Brenneman.

With the founding member (Brenneman) stepping up to lead vocals, and longtime friend Craig Spelliscy completing the lineup on guitar, the band began to hit the road once more releasing a 3 song EP, and touring across Europe, Australia, Asia and North America through 2014-2015; The band felt re-energized.  "It wasn't a matter of perseverance for us after Stu left, really..." says Brenneman. "We just have fun making music together and playing shows. Why wouldn't we keep doing it?".

2018 will prove to be a big year for Living With Lions. With their 'Island' complete the group looks to get back to what they truly enjoy the most, playing music together.

"I know we couldn't have done it without each other. We've learned to lean on one another when things aren't looking good... Despite all the things we went through though, in a weird way, I know the record turned out better because of it." - Chase Brenneman

Living With Lions have toured extensively sharing stages with bands such as A Day to Remember, The Ghost Inside, Blink 182, Paramore, New Found Glory, The Wonder Years, Title Fight, Comeback Kid and many, many more.

Good Charlotte Release Video For New Single 'Shadowboxer'.

Good CharlotteSunday 15th July 2018
Good Charlotte have released "Shadowboxer", the second single taken from their anxiously awaited seventh studio album, Generation Rx. The song is available to stream and download now HERE. The band have also released an accompanying music video for the track, directed by Jake Stark. In line with Generation Rx's lyrical themes, the video for "Shadowboxer" is a solitary look at what appear to be everyday people confronting the pain and struggle that is reflected back at them as they look at themselves the mirror. Such pain is often not visible to others as the stigma of mental health issues forces many people to suffer in silence. Watch it HERE.

Due for release on September 14, 2018 via a newly minted global partnership between the band's MDDN label and BMG, "Generation Rx" is available for pre-order HERE. The band have also launched a collaboration with LA streetwear brand Chinatown Market, including limited edition shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and more. "Chinatown Market for Good Charlotte" pre-order bundles are available exclusively through Good Charlotte's online store HERE.

This autumn, Good Charlotte will embark on a massive North American Tour in support of "Generation Rx" that will kick off on October 12, 2018 in Mexico City, and wrap on November 24, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV. Tickets for the tour are on sale now. Good Charlotte will return to Europe and the UK for a tour kicking off February 1, 2019. A complete list of upcoming live dates and ticket information can be found HERE.

"Generation Rx" represents both a new chapter and full circle moment for the group—brothers Joel [vocals] and Benji Madden [guitar, vocals], Billy Martin [guitar], Paul Thomas [bass], and Dean Butterworth [drums]. Powered by punk spirit, rock songcraft, and cinematic ambition, they retain the signature vitality and vulnerability of their formative years, while delivering an urgent, unafraid, and undeniable message befitting of two decades in the game.

The quintet craft intricate, yet infectious anthems of hope for a generation under the shadow of the Opioid epidemic, icons gone too soon, mass tragedy, loneliness, and confusion. Produced by Zakk Cervini and Benji during intimate sessions at MDDN headquarters, the record finds Good Charlotte doing what they do best—speaking directly to the youth.

Alter BridgeSunday 15th July 2018
After 14 years performing together, five full-length studio albums, and countless sold-out shows around the globe, there aren’t many items left on a band’s bucket list. For Alter Bridge, one of the remaining list items was crossed off in October 2017 when the band performed two sold-out shows at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall backed by the 52-piece Parallax Orchestra led by conductor Simon Dobson. Those career-defining shows were captured and combined in the upcoming Napalm Records worldwide release Live At The Royal Albert Hall on September 7th.

Bad Rabbits Release New Song 'Dollars And Change'.

Bad RabbitsSunday 15th July 2018
Acclaimed R&B band Bad Rabbits have dropped the next song off their upcoming album Mimi – the feel-good"Dollars & Change" aims to make you feel rich even when you're broke, and the accompanying visual, featuring stunning animation by illustrator Jimmy Lazer, is another peek inside the larger-than-life story of MimiPRESS HERE to check out the video.

The band's forthcoming 7-track album Mimi (out August 10th - PRESS HERE to pre-order) is brimming with Bad Rabbits' signature O.G. funk and modern sonics. Soundtracked by shimmering synths, heavenly falsetto, ratchet horns, and swaggering bass lines, the Mimi album is a musical romp. Spontaneous and addictive, the mythical Mimi represents the quintessential dream girl...even if the Starbucks lattes and the selfies go a little overboard. A fictional short-haired, dark-skinned, social media-obsessed, voluptuous vixen named Mimi, whose sexuality is ambiguous, stands at the center of the album, where she can be found somewhere in each scene and song as the subject or a bystander. While the sonics on Mimi will jumpstart any party and provide a summer escape in true Bad Rabbits style, the storytelling found on the album ultimately is a celebration of women of all shapes, sizes, colors and walks of life, whether it be through lighthearted and innocent daydreams, or when things take an unacceptable turn for the worse into sexual harassment territory, like on "F on the J-O-B," an unconventional song in support of the Time's Up and #MeToo movements. While the track, featured on Spotify's New Music Friday, marks the return of Bad Rabbits' upbeat R&B funk, the lyrics and accompanying visual address the serious topic of sexual harassment in the workplace – an intentional juxtaposition. PRESS HERE to check out the eye-popping animated video, which sees justice served in the end.

"We actually wrote this song well before the #MeToo and Time's Up movements, and it was inspired by women's experiences in the workplace," explains vocalist Fredua Boakye. "Now, with everything that has happened in the past year, the song is even more important to us. The song and the video shame and mock the men who feel entitled to sex just because they are attracted to a woman. The narrator in this song is the guy that Mimi deals with every day at work. To the douchebags that sexually harass women, your time's up. To women, we just want you to know that we support you."

"We're countering the stereotypes and telling a crazy story from a female point-of-view," says guitarist Salim Akram. "We're not trying to give you the perspectives of a bunch of 35-year-old guys. It's not about us – it's all about Mimi. Women need to be respected, period, and we're telling that viewpoint through the story of Mimi."

30 limited edition vinyl copies of "Dollars & Change" will be available on July 20th at The 7" collector's lathe cut pressing is individually numbered and completely crafted by hand. Featuring a flood print with an image that reflects the theme of the track on the inside and hand-screened spot gloss varnish on the cover, these one-time-only records are intended for the true collector. PRESS HEREto stream another album track "Mysterious."

GroundCulture Release Music Video For 'Deviate'.

GroundCultureThursday 12th July 2018
Hotly-tipped Newcastle quintet GroundCulture have today released the music video for 'Deviate', from their self-titled EP released on June 1st.

Speaking of the track, singer Roy-Daniel Watson says, "'Metaphorically, Deviate speaks to me and illuminates the repetition of negative and inhibiting actions or thoughts. All around the world, the same essence permeates through people's entire journey. We need to become aware of these segments of our paradigm and learn that (with awareness, intention and accepting that were all in a pool of pure potential, equipped with far more power than we ever can perceive) we're more than capable of flipping the script and redefining ourselves.
There's a duality in story.. Have I made the change and redirected my life? Or am I reflecting on life before I throw in the towel and remove myself from that headspace in the only way that I that I feel I can?

I want to tell people it's okay to go to that place. It weighs you down, but if you realise your true value, being that low in the first place can be a catalyst to explode into pure, vibrant strength."
GroundCulture follow recent shows with 30 Seconds To Mars and Every Time I Die with an appearance at Y Not Festival on July 27th.

 Northlane Release New Single 'Vultures'.

NorthlaneThursday 12th July 2018
Northlane have released their new stand-alone single "Vultures" today via UNFD. Northlane's most aggressive track in years, "Vultures" is the band at their dark and scathing best – but entirely on their own terms.
There's a vulture waiting to pick at my bones and bury me alive.
Confronting those who've tried to contain Northlane over the years, "Vultures" is a frantic purge of frustration and bile, carried forth by the band at their heavy best. Northlane frontman Marcus Bridge has been on the receiving end of wild expectation and criticism ever since he stepped up to the microphone in 2014 and he's had enough.
"The main message is not having to live up to someone's expectations or live within someone's idea of what you should be," says Bridge. "It stems from a built-up number of things over the last few years that comes with people expecting what we are supposed to sound like as a band since I've come on board. A lot of that stuff that has given us this feeling to want to talk about it. It's important to be true to yourself and not let anyone mould you in a way that isn't the way you want to be.
"Just being able to talk about this subject at a point in time now where I see Northlane as being our band now, I don't feel like the new guy anymore. It feels like we are finally doing us and it's all feeling a lot more natural."

After announcing they'd be taking time out from the Australian touring circuit in early-2018, Northlanehad their first real break in years. During this downtime music was never far from their collective minds and feeling inspired and invigorated again, "Vultures" was created.
To bring Vultures to life, Northlane returned to their roots in Western Sydney and recorded the instruments at Chris Blancato's studio (the same place they recorded the instruments for Hollow Existence and the single "Rot") with vocals laid down at Electric Sun Studios with Dave Petrovic (where Discoveries was recorded). The band also introduced some new faces into the recording process with Drew Fulk (Motionless in White, Pop Evil) co-producing the track with the band and mixing handled by Adam "Nolly" Getgood (Periphery).
Bridge too has his own personal history at Electric Sun Studios, recording there a decade prior, and revisiting both their pasts really cemented his place within Northlane.
"It was really special to come back Electric Sun and merge mine and Northlane's history together," he finishes.
The band will also be returning to the UK this November for the Never Say Die Tour.

You can see Northlane at the following dates:

4th November Koko London
5th November SWX  Bristol
6th November Club Academy Manchester
7th November Asylum Birmingham

Tickets on sale now.

Northlane released their previous album Mesmer in March 2017 as a surprise to fans, which debuted at #3 on the ARIA Chart and earned the band their second ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal album that same year. In 2018, Mesmer has been on to be nominated for an AIR award for Best Independent Hard Rock, Heavy or Punk Album, as well as Best Artwork at the Heavy Music Awards.

"Vultures" is available now on limited edition vinyl (only 300 copies worldwide) and on all streaming services.
Northlane - "Vultures" is out now on UNFD.

From Drummer/vocalist Steven Ansell - "When i was young my parents told me that they'd expected me to be a girl when i was born. they had a name ready, and the name was Victoria. at some point growing up i started imagining this other version of me, a fictional idea of a person who has never existed but could have, someone different, better, wiser. this song is about yearning for that person to call up and help when you are at your most lost and everything is falling apart...except what if that imaginary person calls you and tells you something you don't want to hear?"
