Hello and thank you for taking time out to do this interview.
First of all can you give us a brief history of the band for the people who have never heard of you?

we came together because we had social difficulties in school and so our parents enrolled us in junior sculpture classes where me and saul met fredi who knew charlie and joe through tai boxing we realised we shared a passion for winning and loving things and we loved music and each other and made a band

How did you come up with the band name The Metros?
joes mums wrote a book on metrosexuality and we didnt understand its meaning but liked the sound of it

What are your influences and whom would you say contributed to your current musical style?
the music at fairgrounds, and the physical passion of joe calzaghe and the great muhamid ali

You are currently on tour, how have the shows been going?
amazing

Now you seem to be forever on tour, is it always such an enjoyable experience?
somethimes being in the back of a van full of sweaty stinking arseholes can be a chore but the shows are good

Do you have any funny stories from being on the road touring so much?
we once stuck a buckfast bottle up charlies arse causing him to vomit on himself

You are playing most of the major UK festivals this summer, are there any you are looking forward to the most?
the smaller ones like z008 and beachbreak

Will you be checking many bands out at the UK festivals?
slipknot and metallica at reading and leeds. were only dissapointed that were gonna miss rage againt the machine

You are also heading to Japan the play the Summersonic festival, how did this come about and have you played in Japan before?
i dunno how it happened and we havent been there before

You have played at many venues and towns across the country, but do you have any favourite venues and towns to play at?
manchester is a good town and hull for the women

If you could play with any band past or present, who would it be and why?
funkedelik for the spaceship, george fornby for the love

What is the most memorable gig you have played and why?
royal albert hall with madness

How was the filming for your second single 'Last Of The Lookers'?
fantastic

When is 'Last Of The Lookers' being released and are you looking forward to the release?
its out on the 2nd of june and yes

You have been in and out of the studio a few times now, is your debut album complete now and do you have a title and release date for it?
we only went into the studio once and we have finished it we havent got a name yet we were thinking maybe soapdodgers anonymous its out in september

How do you go about writing songs, do you jam along until something falls into place or do you all sit down and really think things through?
we dont write songs we write feelings

What do you think of the current music scene?
its pretty rubbish

You are from Peckham, how would you describe life there and is there a good music scene there?
if your into african dancehall then the music scene is thriving and life theres good bladclart

What advice what you give to a new band starting off?
wear funny hats

Where do you hope to see The Metros in 5 years time?
in tunbridge wells forum

Okay, one final random question; if you had a choice, what animal would you be out of a Zebra and a Giraffe?
a girebra
