Terrorhawk - Now I'm ContentTerrorhawk – Now I’m Content

Terrorhawk are a four piece hardcore band from Worcester, they haven’t been around for long and recorded their debut 5 track EP at The Waiting Room Studios in Worcester, the band are signed to Lockjaw records and the EP will be released through them on the 6th July 2009.

‘Now I’m Content’ is the first bit of music that Terrorhawk have ever released but you might of seen them touring across the country with various different Lockjaw records bands such as Nana’s Revenge, Consolation Prizefighter, Resonate, Crazy Arm and various other underground hardcore punk bands.

This debut EP from Terrorhawk is pretty fast and furious with some top instrumental moments for example the short 55 second opening track ‘Intro’ starts off really chilled out but the guitar, bass and drums come in after each other and within the last few seconds of the track Terrorhawk are packing in a big fucking instrumental sound that you can’t help but love.

‘Bird Song Chromotography’ starts off with a bit of a tinny instrumental feel and then front man James Plant’s vocals kick in and he sounds like a man who has very bad case of ADHD and needs to unleash all of his energy with his fast and frantic vocals.

‘Dynamite Fight’ is another song where James Plant goes on a mad rant with his vocals, whilst listening to the song you can pretty much imagine what he would be like on stage, I would imagine he would be jumping around like a lunatic and dangling from the ceiling at every opportunity trying to cause as much destruction to venues as he can.

Now where the music within this EP is quite frantic and powerful sounding with meaty guitar riffs and extremely mental vocals, what I will say is that after a few listens it all sounds a bit to samey and it’s not really going to be one of those EP’s that you are going to find yourself listening to time and time again, I am pretty sure that Terrorhawk are a band best suited to the live circuit, but overall ‘Now I’m Content’ is not a bad release.
