It looks like it’s time for the Enter Shikari
hype again, the band are back with their brand new
single 'We Can Breathe In Space, They Just Don't
Want Us To Escape' and to be fair the song is a
majorly listenable experience and oddly won’t
be featured on the bands second full length album
which is due out sometime next year. Well it seems
quite odd that the song won’t be featured
on their second full length album but if you read
into the history of the song you will understand
that slight bit more, basically 'We Can Breathe
In Space, They Just Don't Want Us To Escape' is
a re-working of one of the bands old songs that
was a demo way back in the day and was an instant
hit with their fans but soon got forgotten about
when they took it out of their live set for a few
years until now I guess.
'We Can Breathe In Space, They Just Dont Want Us
To Escape' was produced by Andy Gray, yeah the guy
responsible for that annoying Big Brother theme
tune that we have had to put up with for 9 years,
anyway the single is once again being released on
Enter Shikari's own Ambush Reality record label
on the 3rd November which is living proof that the
band still haven’t cracked from all the offers
from the major labels. The song is a lot different
from what you would find on their debut album 'Take
To The Skies', it’s a lot cleaner sounding,
a lot faster and a hell of a lot more upbeat, the
synths are quite spacey sounding but then again
that’s within the name of the song and it
goes really well, the vocals are really fast and
sound quite like the squealy sound more sing a long
Alexisonfire style vocals in places. 'We Can Breathe
In Space, They Just Dont Want Us To Escape' is a
great welcome back for Enter Shikari even though
the song is a re-working of an old demo that has
been hiding away for years, that doesn’t bother
me as I have never heard the demo before so class
it as a new song and in fact it’s my favourite
Enter Shikari single to date without a doubt.
To be fair it’s like Enter Shikari have never
left the scene they have been touring their arses
off constantly since way before they released their
album 'Take To The Skies' in 2007 and they still
haven’t stopped, the band are currently on
tour check them out if you have the chance as they
are bound to finally take some much needed time
off now to work on that big album number 2.
