Answers On Postcards - EPAnswers On Postcards - EP

Answers On Postcards are a new band on the scene from Staffordshire, they may not of been on the scene for long but they have already come up with a really tight energetic sound and sure know how to write some stand out tracks, their debut 5 track ep is pretty damn good and will hopefully help invite Answers On Postcards music into the homes of people around the country.

The ep opens with 'What Did I Do' and the song oozes with style, the opening guitar riffs are very Artic Monkeys sounding, Lee's vocals are smooth and clear, you really notice how talented Answers On Postcards are when the extremely infectious chorus kicks in, with Lee singing "What did I do" in such a catchy style.

The guitar work on 'Back Down To Earth' is pretty impressive you can easily tell that these guys have been listening to a lot by the Artic Monkeys and indie legends The Hollies, as the styles of both bands really shows in the bands music, the vocals on offer here oddly enough remind me of Whitmore frontman Rob Blake.

Current single 'Confidence In A Can' is another really upbeat number that is lead by some really impressive guitar work; these guys have certainly done their homework and come up with a winning formula with their sound.

The ep finishes with 'Don't Come Running', the song is really stripped down and fully driven by an acoustic guitar, the guitar playing is really strong and runs throughout the whole song, the lead vocals are really loud, clear and positive sounding and shows you can make a basic sounding song sound huge.

I am going to be keeping my eye on Answers On Postcards, they are a really talented band and could create waves on the scene when they get their music out there, I certainly hope to hear more from this band in the future.

4/5
