Album Review

Adept - Sleepless
Adept - Sleepless

I Was excited to see this album pop up, caught Adept on a couple tours a while ago and I wasn't disappointed. Their material I would have classed as slightly emo, aimed primarily at younger metal fans and generally it was a good blend of the classic melodic and heavy style which was great fun to listen to.

Let's fast forward to now and the release of their brand new album, to start with I know this is more look than feel but the album cover is simplistic and elegant which is very different for them. That sets the tone because the whole theme of the album is on a much more mature level referencing the past and more reminiscing past chapters by transitioning into the next. The music hits a much less hyperactive level, a much more relaxed vibe; don't get me wrong it's still heavy as hell but you can see they've really put the time in to really iron out the creases and think about what they're doing.

The majority of the songs on here have made their way into my favourite tracks playlist, if you've never heard of them check this out, if you're an old fan same goes and if you're not a fan having heard their past material, I plead with you, try again.

4.5/5
