Jim Lockey And The Solemn Sun - Wilderness Of A Wild YouthJim Lockey And The Solemn Sun – Wilderness Of A Wild Youth

Cheltenham four-piece Jim Lockey And The Solemn Sun have had one hell of an year which has seen them embark on a few headline tours across the UK, support The Dropkick Murphys in America, play T In The Park and 2000 Trees festival and also release numerous amounts of singles and now they are set to finish off the year with another Headline tour of the UK aswell as the release of their new single ‘Wilderness Of A Wild Youth’.

‘Wilderness Of A Wild Youth’ is quite a soft and gentle song, yet it is the lyrics and vocals from Jim Lockey which really draw you in as his sings his heart out whilst the rest of the band smoothly jam along in a solid way.

B-side ‘Forefathers’ is even more stripped back than the main single and see’s the band go down a raw acoustic route where the vocals are big and in your face whilst the acoustic guitar is played in such a way that you will be wanting to head down to a beach camp fire on a summer’s evening with your acoustic guitar to play the songs of Jim Lockey And The Solemn Sun with your friends.

Jim Lockey And The Solemn Sun are a great band who clearly deserve all the success that has been coming their way recently, 2014 will see the band release their new studio album and I am sure the likes of ‘Wilderness OF A Wild Youth’ and ‘Forefathers’ will keep the fans pleased until then.
