EP Review

48 Hours - Secrets48 Hours – Secrets

Hailing for the South Of England 48 Hours are a new three piece band on the block who are looking at taking the rock scene by storm, they are influenced by the likes of Soil, Alter bridge, Korn, Funeral For A Friend, Drowning Pool and these influences has helped them craft the solid rock sound that is features on their forth coming 3 track debut EP ‘Secrets’.

‘Secrets’ runs for just under 10 minutes and it is 10 minutes of your time that I really recommended giving up for the EP as it a solid hard hitting release, the EP opens with the rifftastic ‘Hollow’ and from the off you just know that 48 Hours have spent a lot of time working on their sound as the riffs running throughout the song are massive, the vocals from Adam Jerome are big yet full of melody giving the band a rock meets pop feel.

‘Not Alone’ is more of a progressive song from the opening track and in oozes in style from the opening seconds right up until the final drum beat is laid down, instrumentally the song is quite soft sounding for the majority of the time yet the song features many build ups and break downs and this is where the killer instrumental work comes in with really fast guitar riffs and constant drum beats coming and going every now and again whilst Adam Jerome lays down his soaring vocals.

The EP title track and closer ‘Secrets’ is easily the best track on the EP as 48 Hours pretty much smash the airwaves with fast paced drum beats, beefy guitar riffs, solid basslines and big catchy melodic vocals creating a song that you are not going to forget about in a hurry.

48 Hours have created a solid EP in ‘Secrets’ the only downside is that the EP is over in 10minutes and leaves you on such a high that you are left out crying for more songs.
