Always The Quiet Ones - Freak ShowAlways The Quiet Ones – Freak Show

Always The Quiet Ones are a five piece band hailing from Liverpool who formed back in late 2010 and since that time they have been hot on the local live scene supporting bands like Deaf Havana, Mojo Fury, Axis Of and Turbogeist and now they are gearing up to release their new EP ‘Freak Show’.

The EP opens with ‘Sign Of The Times’ a song which has a slight old school rock and roll feel running throughout, the main vocals from Blas Barragan Jr are quite special and stand out really well throughout the song, whilst the instrumental work is quite interesting throughout with many unpredictable drum beats and guitar riffs on offer.

‘Valentina’ is more of a slow paced track which relies on the chorus and Blas Barragan Jr’s killer vocals to help the song stand out as instrumentally the song is pretty bland.

The final track on the EP is ‘Freak Show’ and it shows yet another side to Always The Quiet Ones with a more hard hitting heavy rock sound and feel, as soon as you hear the opening guitar riffs you just know this song is going to be big and everything from the guitar riffs to the melodic verses and shouty chorus is just spot on.

‘Freak Show’ is a very interesting and diverse sounding three track EP from Always The Quiet Ones, the band clearly know how to write good music and are also really good musicians and if they can craft more songs in the vein of ‘Freak Show’ then there future could start to get a bit brighter.
