Die! Chihuahua Die! - Bitch SongsDie! Chihuahua Die! - Bitch Songs

Die! Chihuahua Die! Formed in 2007 down in South Wales, but they are a bit different to most of the bands coming out of there these days – or so i'm told.

The opening track, Knifesex, is frantic but retains some rhythm which is a brilliant combo for any opening track. With the lyrics “we fuck destruction”, Die! Chihuahua Die! Begin the onslaught.

Track 2, Stuck Pig features a nice little bridge and is overall a good song, perhaps not their strongest though. I just felt the bridge deserved a mention.

Cold Caller follows and it's a bit more brutal, which is what I expected from a band that's graced the stage with Attack! Vipers!, Rat Attack and the The Cumshots. The song as a whole sounds like it'd be brilliant live, perfect for whipping any friendly crowd into a frenzy.

The single Happy Song is probably my favourite song on the album. It's catchy, rhythmic and brutal. Like a more punk-rock Cancer Bats...which is always a good thing.

Bitch Survive reminds me somewhat of Fucked Up and I imagine it'd be immense live. Full of brutal energy, perfect for kicking ass in the pit to! A solid kick in the face from beginning to end.

The final song on the album Brian Maiden brings the album to an excellent finish. Slower than the rest of the album but maintaining the key sound throughout it's a solid finish.

Overall, despite a perhaps less-than-perfect beginning it seems that Die! Chihuahua Die! Saved their best for the last half of the album. I still go with my gut instinct though that tells me this is a band that should be heard live first. If what i've been told is true it's quite a show! Broken drum kits, flying (and broken) guitars, blood but lots and lots of good times.

That's what I get about this band - they like a good time. Something that I fear gets lots amongst the search for fame and fortune with bands. I'm also sure this album isn't all they have to offer, this is definitely a live band.

3/5
